BTC Stolen from Blockchain Wallet with 2FA and I just access via blockchain app (IOS) Posted: 19 Jan 2021 01:01 AM PST I'm in shock right now... I got my BTC from 2014, and they have been always a blockchain wallet. In the last couple of years I've just accessed via app (Face Id, 2FA...) and always my funds have been there. On December when I logged in, my wallet appeared as "imported" and I could see my funds, and blockchain app suggested to move them to "my bitcoin wallet". Edit: I didn't receive any popup or message suggesting to move them. The issue was I couldn't see my funds as before and I had to move them to "my bitcoin wallet" (different address) in order to I could see them in my balance. I moved them and after 2 hours my funds were in the new wallet and I could see my funds there. Yesterday I connected to my account I saw 0 and then I started looking my funds and then in my transactions had once from January 7th with all my money to a wallet. Just opened a ticket with blockchain support... Is there any shot i might get my funds back? I have all the protections enabled and i never got an email for attempted Login, no SMS Text Code for the 2FA security, no email for the transaction, absolutely nothing. I don't want to post any addresses because i don't know if that can affect any chances but if anyone can help DM me please, any help is appreciated. Is there any chance i might get my funds back? They only vector attack I can imagine would be... in 2017 I bought a ledger nano wallet and at that time I connected to my account an I transferred 0.01 to my hardware wallet to see if everything worked. Then ledger was hacked and then I thought ok maybe it's not the most secure company and I didn't transfer my btc there.... Could that hacked affect me somehow? [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Jan 2021 08:34 AM PST I get the feeling when I try explaining Bitcoin, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to people, they nod and smile and say "thats cool!" but people dont really get it. I feel that its one of those things that you have to experience for yourself to really understand it. So rather than ceaselessly rave about my new obsession all the time (as I have been doing to everyone lately), I decided to just buy one of my good friends $50 BTC and told him to sit on it and watch the balance slowly increase over the next few months. No better way to catalyze someone giving crypto a little more critical thought than by forcing Bitcoin upon them in the most literal way possible. I at the very least wanted to get him set up with a starting balance to keep in a cold wallet that would basically be his own swiss bank account that essentially accrues ~300% interest every year. I then told him if he digs it, he could use it as a savings account if he wanted to keep throwing money at it once he see's why im so hopelessly balls deep in this shit now. If he doesnt dig it, he can spend the money and not worry about me taking it personally. Win-win [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Jan 2021 03:09 PM PST IDK why the urge even came over me since I literally never, EVER buy lottery tix, but i even had the $30 ticket in hand and I was ready to get my card out and pay for it before i came to my senses and gave it back to the cashier. I immediately put that money into Coinbase. Going to keep that mentality going into the future whenever I find myself thinking about making any sort of spur-of-the-moment, impulsive purchases. Ps. Can anyone recommend a better exchange than Coinbase pro? It seems easy enough and it has worked for me so far, just have heard people favor other services instead. Am fairly new to the game and am learning more every day, would appreciate any and all recs! [link] [comments]

The first mention of Bitcoin on a mainstream TV show happened 9 years ago this month. Posted: 18 Jan 2021 04:53 AM PST It came just three years after bitcoin's creation and aired when the price of one Bitcoin would set you back around $6.90 (the price was already double what they recorded it as). The TV show that mentioned bitcoin was The Good Wife, and the episode was called 'Bitcoin for Dummies' (yes, the entire episode was dedicated to Bitcoin). In the episode, Alicia (the protagonist) takes on the case of Dylan Stack (played by Jason Biggs), a lawyer who has refused to reveal the identity of his client who is wanted by the U.S. Treasury Department for creating a new digital currency called Bitcoin. The episode features a surprisingly good explainer on what Bitcoin is, and how it works. You can watch it here. I wonder how many people this episode sent down the rabbit hole, leading them to the greatest investment (or regret) of their lives. [link] [comments]
Lamborghini U.S. Dealer Says They Now Accept Cryptocurrencies As Payment Posted: 18 Jan 2021 06:02 AM PST What's that saying, "there's no such thing as a coincidence?" Well, here's Lamborghini of Newport Beach stating that they now accept cryptocurrencies as payment, during the most massive bull run in Bitcoin history no less. Although, you will have to call them and see which coins are accepted and which are not – Bitcoin is a given, and probably a few other strong ones as far as market cap. This isn't the first time somebody would have or could have bought vehicles using cryptocurrency. In fact, it's not even the first time for this particular dealer. Back in 2013, somebody paid in Bitcoin for a Tesla Model S, acquired from Lamborghini Newport Beach. [link] [comments]
Why Is Bitcoin Making New All-Time Highs? Posted: 18 Jan 2021 03:56 PM PST
Posted: 19 Jan 2021 02:46 AM PST It is getting more mainstream each year. From a project started by hobbyists into multibillion dollar valuations and investments. Right now the legacy institutions are showing interest to take a stake in the crypto space. Bitcoin is tracked by most mainstream news channels and all financial outlets. It's valuation growing parabolic to nearing $1 trillion. With targets reaching as far high as $100 trillion usd. Nations have begun to decide on their stance on the growth of this technology. Politicians are talking about it actively such as most recently in Miami, FL. Central banks around the world have declared their interest in the space. Countries such as china have been trial testing actively. With the world in shambles triggered by the pandemic. It's all eyes on Bitcoin. [link] [comments]
I just sold my Bitcoin and couldn't be happier Posted: 19 Jan 2021 02:36 AM PST I just sold my BTC to pay off my last remaining student debt. I first entered the market in 2016 after a few colleagues were talking about it and stuck a chunk of money in and left it for ages. I got a bit worried in 2018 and just saw it as lost money but after 2020 I can finally say I'm debt free! Thank you this community is amazing! [link] [comments]

Ledger user... Please enable hardware (U2F) based 2FA on your accounts. Posted: 18 Jan 2021 10:22 PM PST Two Ledger leak sim swaps posted this weekend where the attacker tried to obtain access to the users exchange account. Most of these people are told to enable Authenticator. This makes zero sense when they are literally holding a hardware 2FA device in their hand. Yes Authenticator is much better than SMS, but hardware 2FA is much (much) better than authenticator. Why in the world would you not use the most secure method to secure your account when you know SIM swaps are happening. Just some friendly advice. Use it or discard. Your choice. https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005198545-FIDO-U2F [link] [comments]
