I'd like to hold and forget my ETH, what can I do?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2020 11:04 AM PST

I got around 4 ETH as payment for a project that I did a few months ago, eth blew up after that and that made me very happy, I tried trading after that, bought some weird altcoins, long story short I have 3.5 ETH now.

I honestly don't need the money right now and would prefer to hold and forget the ETH, the coins are in my Binance wallet and it offers options like adding ETH to an ETH/BUSD liquidity pool and staking for ETH 2.0, which of these is safe? ideally, I would like to pick the one option which has better rewards but I don't care much about the returns, for me, this would just be a mental barrier to not play with the coins anymore.

I apologise if this is question is not meant for this subreddit, Thank you for reading.

brainstorming: why not implementing a system of incentives and rewards for minters who stake using their own eth1 node? Bonus for nodes in remote/loosely connected parts of the network topography

    Posted: 15 Dec 2020 01:41 PM PST

Yep, the title says it all. Thanks to ETH2 we do now have a structure in place that gives financial incentive to stake and create new nodes. I'm afraid that in 5 years, 95% of stakers will be made up by exchanges+pools+whales.

The resulting network is NOT healthy and desirable, is it? Centralized, in the hands of few, probably some hundred nodes on virtual machines in the same clusters, likely using infura/alchemy for eth1

do it now, and reward the solo little staker that spins up an maintains it's own eth2 and eth1 node.

Is it a legit concern that Ethereum 2.0 could be classified as a security?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2020 01:03 PM PST

Found these two articles about the potential risks, but I'm not too knowledgeable about the laws.

Could anyone explain whether or not this is a something we should be scared of?

SEC ruled eth as not a security but I'm not sure if it applies to 2.0
