Dai Hard - A Christmas challenge Posted: 16 Dec 2020 05:46 AM PST An explosion rocks Serenity City. In the aftermath a message is anonymously dropped onto an obscure cypherpunk mailing list. The SCPD manage to locate the bomb, but find themselves unable to disarm or move it due to a selection of anti-tampering measures protecting the device. In desperation they post a reward contract for its successful deactivation: Is there anyone out there able to bypass the anti-tampering, cut the right wires and then disarm the bomb? To optionally contribute to the disarm reward fund, feel free to send ETH to the contract address (do not send tokens as their withdrawal is not supported). [link] [comments]
Intermediate/beginner programmer looking to work in the space Posted: 16 Dec 2020 07:50 PM PST Hi I am a intermediate?(I've built a python/flask-based website w/ html css JavaScript and google maps api that had a SQLite database. As well as some Java coursework) programmer and I would like to find a job in the blockchain world ideally in ethereum or ethereum project. Where would one recommend I look? I am pretty intimidated by contributing to open source code. Or should I continue my studies and come back when I am more experienced? [link] [comments]

Kleros hands over governance to the Kleros Governor smart contract Posted: 16 Dec 2020 11:27 AM PST On the 9th of December 2020, Kleros protocol has been fully decentralized with control over all smart contract changes handed over to the Kleros Governor. Any changes made to core contracts powering the Kleros ecosystem will need to be voted on and executed via community vote using PNK. This is a huge moment in the development of Kleros creating a fully autonomous platform under the full control of community members and PNK holders. Until now, Kleros had been using Aragon Governance to vote on proposals made to change parameters or functions within the Kleros protocol and dapp suite. The results of those would be 'trusted' with the Cooperative to implement. With the implementation of the Governor, all proposal votes will be automatically executed by the governor smart contract. Aleph.im, a decentralized cloud project compatible with Ethereum, is launching its staking program Posted: 16 Dec 2020 03:13 AM PST Aleph.im's mission is to help decentralized apps and protocols strip off the centralized parts of their stack, achieving a fully decentralized architecture. It achieves this by providing decentralized databases (including file storage), computation and a decentralized identification (DID) framework. You can think of aleph.im as a decentralized AWS or firebase. Aleph.im is already compatible with Ethereum, Polkadot, Cosmos and more. With this launch it will be able to accommodate larger DApps (i.e. NFT-related DApps needing a lot of storage space for their NFT Metadata). Aleph.im did not do an ICO, nor any private sale round or such. You can see the project's track record, and future roadmap on the medium blog, twitter and website. Nuf said. For all those interested to stake or run a node, here is an article series to get you started:

Invested in some ERC20 tokens (PCT) a few years ago, and basically forgot my information/what wallet I put them on. I have the smart contract i uploaded it on and the tokens' address, but im kind of at a loss on how to proceed as im pretty much a beginner in all of this. any help would be really appreciated! Why would wrapped ETH2 trade at a different price than ETH? Posted: 16 Dec 2020 08:03 AM PST Binance, Coinbase and Kraken all announced they'll support ETH2 liquidity with a wrapped token. Binance said if BETH opens for trading then the price will be determined by the market and they can't guarantee it. Assuming ETH will be converted to ETH2 1:1, and each BETH/wrapped ETH2 represents 1 ETH2, how come BETH could trade at a price different than ETH? For example, wBTC is pegged to BTC price 1:1 right? I'm new to wrapped tokens and don't quite understand how they work, so thanks in advance for the help! [link] [comments]

How secure is an Eth wallet that uses the 12-word phrase w/ no seed? Posted: 16 Dec 2020 09:41 AM PST I notice Trust Wallet uses a 12-word phrase/mnemonic, but there's no password/seed. Would this not be relatively easy to bruteforce? As I understand it the word list is 2000 words so this doesn't feel like a huge number of possible combinations compared to most crypto? Am I missing something? [link] [comments]

Geth - what can be moved on an external usb disk? Posted: 16 Dec 2020 07:41 AM PST Hi, I am running short of space for my --fast geth node. I have moved, successfully it seems, the ancient directory on an external (not ssd) disk. Supposing that the space gets small again, what else can I possibly move outside of the main ssd disk without trouble? SOme files in chainstate? Which ones? thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Dec 2020 11:07 AM PST Does anybody know of an open source chain analytics with metrics similar to GlassNode that can be run on your self-hosted local chain? [link] [comments] |
