"This American Life's" story on corruption at the New York Federal Reserve, with audio tapes. THIS is why Bitcoin exists and is critical.

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 11:20 PM PST

    https://www.thisamericanlife.org/536/the-secret-recordings-of-carmen-segarra

This story was covered in a few small places about 5 years ago but the media buried it after that. Basically Carmen Segarra is a lawyer who was hired to help oversee Goldman Sachs bank and the NY Federal Reserve. The conversations she heard were so nuts that she started recording them.

This story, much like what Edward Snowden exposed, was ignored by the media. But everyone needs to hear it. Segarra should be invited to a Bitcoin or crypto conference as a guest speaker.

    Where Do We Promote Services?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 01:33 PM PST

Hi! I am a professional editor and proofreader that is looking to trade my services for BCH. I was wondering where I should be going to promote this and/or if anyone knows of any projects that I can reach out to directly.

    Thanks!

Why are people still using bitrefill? Have we not discovered Dundle yet?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 05:27 AM PST

Thomas Zander left this buried in a comment, but it deserves its own post:

Why are people still using bitrefill?

Have we not discovered https://dundle.com/ yet? They use bitpay and while I only checked stuff closer to my country (which is in western Europe), it does look like they have a pretty decent covering worldwide.

Can you integrate Bitcoin Cash as a way to have some sort of in-game money for a video game?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 03:43 AM PST

I'm asking because I really don't like the current set of games these days. Essentially, all we have are collectible games, casinos, and just EOS-based games.

Now, I have one question: Is there a way to implement Bitcoin Cash in a way that it just scans a BCH address, and uses it as in-game money for a video game? Essentially, the game gets the amount available in an address and uses it as in-game money for any in-game purchases.

It would be nice for some sort of adoption, after all. It could use SLP tokens for any special things, like another currency.

Where do you store your 24-word seed? Need suggestions to improve my security of funds in a non-custodial account

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 09:08 PM PST

I have a 24-word seed from EarnBet-an online decentralized casino with which I have a decent amount of $BET staked. I wrote the phrase on a piece of paper. I then decided to write it on a password program like lastpass/keepass. So in order to get into the lastpass, you need a password. And i put the lastpass in dropbox/google drive and store it there. My thought was if someone somehow hacked into my Gmail/dropbox, well they still need the password to my lastpass in order to get into my EarnBet seed. I put the EarnBet seed in there as I type it out along with my other bank account details and other financial information.
So I only have the seed written on a piece of paper which I have in the house. But of course, things could happen like fire, floods, etc. So what is the best way to store your seed to prevent this? Did I hear of cryptosteel where it's fireproof and floodproof so that works? But isn't the issue if someone finds it, well it's pretty easy to see oh why is there a bunch of long words and some ppl might even figure out it's the seed of a wallet?
Now if you write the seed in a notebook with a ton of stuff there, well that would be hard for someone to find. Imagine like you have a notebook where you have the seed there but also in the first few pages write down like nursery school rhyme or children books and lot of stuff like that, well obviously it won't look like its important.
Also, I hear people say that you should break your seed into two or three parts. That makes sense but do you leave all the parts in the same house/apartment? You hear about how you give one half to someone else you trust, you keep the second half. Well what if you no longer see the other person anymore or something happens, then what? Obviously, you would need to immediately send your coins to a temporary wallet in the meantime.

Since 12:34 UTC today, some empty blocks have been mined. Any news or updates on this? Also, I feel that recently, transactions have been being processed considerably slower than a few days ago.
