1600W PSU, not enough PCIE cables... Posted: 09 Nov 2020 04:35 PM PST Hi all, I'm setting up a 6 5700xt rig (got the cards on a great sale) and the 1600W psu I got from aliexpress only has enough PCIE cables for the cards themselves. The rest are sata and Molex on the same cable strand. This is supposedly a mining focused, 6 gpu designed PSU, but I've read that using sata to power risers (my risers are molex only so I need to use sata to molex adapters) is a bad idea. This upsets me, haha. Various cables are labeled, I.e one dedicated for the ssd, cpu etc, but I still need to put two risers on each of the hybrid sata/molex cables along with a case fan. It's a chunky gold rated psu that will only be drawing about 900-1000w after under volting. Is this a fire waiting to happen? :/ [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Nov 2020 04:31 PM PST I`ve a lot of asic PSU`s lying around (Bitmain 1600w, Obelisk 1000W). Can i power Power my GPU`s with it? I would use a atx psu to pwer the mb and a asic psu for the gpus? There is no wire beetwin both PSU`s(as shown in r/gpumining wiki https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh18NyhhHvE1e7P52gWlOvIhGKsJiAaAdMCq4-AaFkjJAhsR27YSCorTTIbNNrxeqbk-9UgDIJq8uGFtKugxQJUYXzSdy2YOY7MPyfcixBwHhyphenhyphenYNFgL8wKnY3pcll3AF5uNIllNKz7Y174/s1600/powerrig.png) Will there be any problems ? Thx in Advance [link] [comments] |
3 of the exact same cards, 3 very different temps Posted: 09 Nov 2020 04:39 PM PST So, I've got 3 of the exact same card: MSI 5700xt MECH. They all hash the same and all that, but at the same exact settings on each card, #1 has a memory temp of 74C, #2 has a memory temp of 86C, and the one that likes to crash the rig (#3) has memory temp of about 92C. All of them are set to 825mv, power limit -35, core clock 1300, memclock 1800, fans 65. All of them are sitting at a general temp reading of 49C and nothing I do changes the memory temp on #3. Any ideas why #3's memory temp is so high? [link] [comments] |
