    Kraken's Nov 15 stance

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 02:45 PM PST

    Just got this from them:

Bitcoin Cash will hard fork on November 15, 2020 around 12:00 pm UTC as part of a scheduled protocol upgrade. This upgrade is controversial and will likely result in two chains after the fork.

The likely split is between two protocols known as "Bitcoin Cash Node" and "Bitcoin Cash ABC." At the present time, over 70% of blocks are signaling for Bitcoin Cash Node while less than 1% are signaling for Bitcoin Cash ABC, so Bitcoin Cash Node looks like it will be the dominant chain by far.

For live updates on how miners are signaling, go here.

Here is a summary of Kraken's plan for the fork:

    1. We will support Bitcoin Cash Node regardless of the outcome of the fork.
    2. Bitcoin Cash Node tokens will be called "Bitcoin Cash" on our platform and represented by the ticker symbol "BCH."

    3. We will support Bitcoin Cash ABC ONLY IF the hashpower on the ABC network is at least 10% of the hashpower on the Bitcoin Cash Node network (see blog post link below for details on this requirement).

    4. If we support Bitcoin Cash ABC, it will be called "Bitcoin Cash ABC" on our platform and represented by the ticker symbol "BAB."

    5. If we support Bitcoin Cash ABC, clients with a BCH balance at the time of the fork will receive an equal amount of BAB.

    6. Our support of Bitcoin Cash ABC may be limited to crediting balances and enabling funding (no trading). The decision on whether to enable BAB trading will be entirely at our discretion.

    7. Clients using margin for open spot positions in BCH are advised to close their positions ahead of the fork. See blog link below for important details on how spot positions on margin will be handled across the fork.

    8. Clients who want full control over the outcome of the fork should withdraw their BCH to a private wallet. By holding a BCH balance with Kraken across the fork, clients agree that Kraken will handle the fork at its discretion, and understand that Kraken may decide not to support Bitcoin Cash ABC at all.

    ABC just announced non-IFP version!

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 10:26 AM PST

Can someone help me? I have no impact on their system, I deposit and play and win 4.8 BTC but they (http://bitcoin.com) don't pay

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 06:29 PM PST

There is only one reason for ABC to release a non-IFP version:

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 11:26 AM PST

As long as any miner runs their software they can do this whole fork thing over and over. It's a trap. The more they can fork BCH the more relevant they can make their IFP chain look.

Also I doubt this news coming out when this sub is under heavy attack is coincidence.

ABC has failed to co-opt our favorite chain, they have lost all relevance. Now is the time to ask: Why did ABC lose?

In some crazy news, Binance has deemed us profitable by mining ~50% of the blocks for the day.

    Well, based on cash.coin.dance/blocks.

Anyone have an alternative to cash.coin.dance?

What Bitcoin Cash Developers are Building Right Now: Find out what these 75 teams, projects and individuals are building for BCH in 2021

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 07:53 AM PST

We believe that most of the undecided miners will only follow the existing chain (BCHN) and that there is effectively no chance for BCHA to have any productive life or value.

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 08:14 AM PST

BitGo is one of the oldest companies in the digital asset industry and we have helped our clients manage prior forks. We do not believe that this fork is similar to the 2017 BCH fork or the 2018 BSV fork. This fork, by contrast, does not appear to have support to survive. As of this writing, BCHN, which will continue the existing BCH consensus, has over 75% of miner support; BCHA, the instigator of the fork has less than 1% miner support; and about 24% is so far undecided. We believe that most of the undecided miners will only follow the existing chain (BCHN) and that there is effectively no chance for BCHA to have any productive life or value. We hope that the BCHA team decides to call off the potential fork before it happens, but even if they do not, we see a very low chance of a surviving chain.

Dear price trolls - Yes, BCH is 1.6% the price of BTC, all that means is that you can buy 60x the coins on BCH with $1. What you get is a coin that is actually usable.

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 08:34 AM PST

If product is $50 on Amazon - it doesn't matter if you use a coin that costs $10 or a $1M. The end cost to purchase is $50 regardless.

    "BCH is cheaper than BTC"

    Cons: none

    Pros:

    • you get 60x the coins for the same $1 spent. which means if BCH ever does rally, you will make 60x the profit.

    • BCH is greater than 500x cheaper to use than BTC

There are only positives to using BCH over BTC.

I need a vpn that offers more cryptocurrencies not just bitcoin. price range $5-$7 /monthly (no annual plans)

I just made my first flipstarter pledge!

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 11:27 AM PST

It felt good spending my BCH towards projects that will help drive BCH! Admittedly, my pledge wasn't very big, but it's a start... I also recommend pledging to https://flipstarter.enter-the-sphere.com/ as it only has a few days left, and only 4 BCH is needed to complete the flipstarter for the first widespread use-case of NFTs on BCH.

Where to sell the ABC/IFP coin with no KYC?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 11:28 AM PST

I'm curious if anyone here knows where I should point people who want to sell their ABC/IFP coins without having to go through KYC. Are there any exchanges giving customers access to both sides of the fork that don't require personal information?

    Thanks for any help!

Why is it that /bitcoincash has supposedly 3x as many online users as /btc at any time this week, but there is rarely any original content that is not copied over from here, and attracts rarely more than 1 comment per thread?!

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 10:15 AM PST

Is any statistic on Reddit real at all?! I mean, not that it matters much but since I've been off for a while I've been checking numbers of various subs and I'm scratching my head over this....

And why are so many users posting everything twice, here and over there? How much time do you guys have?

Its like my weekend mystery now. Feel invited to feed me some explanations.
