Posted: 19 Nov 2020 01:58 AM PST Since it is very difficult to downgrade an app on ledger, I'd like to share this info here. Issue is tracked on Github: https://github.com/Electron-Cash/Electron-Cash/issues/2054#issuecomment-730255039 [link] [comments]

Question about LN that r/bitcoin mods won't approve Posted: 18 Nov 2020 12:13 PM PST This post was originally for r/bitcoin however it's been almost 24 hours and the moderators have yet to review the post... so I figured I'd ask here. I try to get varied opinions from both sides. I know the sentiment around Roger Ver and BCH in that sub, but want to hear arguments for and against certain topics. I have genuine good faith question that I haven't really been able to sufficiently find an answer for online. I've heard Roger bring up the fact in this video (starting at 3:10) that it will take 47.6 years to get everyone in the world onto a lightning network channel. Is this somehow misleading? And that would be if each person just opened up ONE channel. Am I fundamentally misunderstanding how the LN works? Do you need to open up a separate channel for each party that you want to transact with? In other words, I would need a separate channel for Starbucks, McDonalds, Target, etc? I don't understand how that would possibly be feasible. Someone explain to me why I'm wrong! [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Nov 2020 07:08 AM PST Ever since Bitcoin gained value it has attracted all sorts of bad actors trying to make a buck at any cost. Some are obvious like low level thieves who try to steal people's coins or private keys, while others play a more advanced game like Amaury Sechet's recent attempt at directly siphoning off 8% of newly minted Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin has a big target on it and always will so long as it has value. Lets take a look at some attempts at profiting off Bitcoin in the past few years.
2 of the 3 recent attacks have been on Bitcoin Cash not Bitcoin. Not to mention of all the 50+ Bitcoin forks, why does Bitcoin Cash get it's own pet name? Why doesn't Bitcoin SV or Bitcoin Gold get a pet name? Adam Back always referred to Bitcoin Gold by it's full and proper name, but always uses "Bcash" for Bitcoin Cash. [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Nov 2020 02:27 AM PST If you focus on price, and you keep posting that "bcash price down BTC up hurr durr", then your market analysis is seriously flawed, and you need to read this. The fundamentals BCH has are clear and are unique to it, and while rBitcoin, rCryptocurrency and other censored channels are all today driving a certain narrative, decentralized uncensrorable social media options are growing. Contrast this to Twitter for example, which recently took over the @Bitcoin account because Jack, Twitter's CEO, is a large investor in Lightning and other BTC and Blockstream custodial solutions, and BCH is a threat to that banking-like model. Once this decentralized social media movement reaches a certain adoption threshold, and like an avalanche eventually begins out of that single last additional snowflake, BTC will quickly lose value to BCH's real fundamentals. Which top 10 coin has BCH's: -Bitcoin's original distribution and multi year emission schedule -Bitcoin's original game theory parameters - no skewed incentives, no rent seeking like LN, Liquid, ABC's tax, BSV's copyrights, etc -BCH's hyper focus on scaling decentralized peer to peer electronic cash, on-chain and absolutely unstoppable and permissionless -Number of clients and mining and node software options -Number of ecosystem participants -Number of projects -Nunber of tokens (SLP) -Decentralized governance and pure open market competition -Optional yet irreversible privacy (Coin-fusion) allowing it to be grandfathered by most regulatory bodies and government entities (unlike Monero which is banned by default by many due to its always-on privacy) -Fungibility due to said perfect, semi-default, optional privacy And list goes on and on. There's a reason forks and attempts to capture are still happening on BCH rather than BTC or else, it's because BCH owns the best fundamentals, and by a huge fucking margin. If you focus on price, you're here for the wrong reasons my friend and you don't get what Bitcoin Cash is building. [link] [comments]

Question: does cashfusion stop at some point Posted: 18 Nov 2020 06:04 PM PST Hey guys, yesterday I tried out cashfusion for the first time on the electron cash wallet. I see that the coins are being fused and new transactions are being relayed. I am wondering if this process comes to a halt at some point or of it just goes on and on because I am fusing 10 BCH and it has been going on and on since yesterday. How do I know when the coins have been sufficiently fused. I'm using all the default settings on the wallet. [link] [comments]

Will the suddenly increased price of bitcoin push more new people to use BCH instead? Posted: 18 Nov 2020 02:23 PM PST Bitcoin today hit 18.000 usd, which filled all the holders of bitcoin with enthusiasm but. (Including me), but it's clear that such sudden change will also effect people who're not accustomed to cryptocurrencies and simply look for something to make their life easier. Personally as a developer and a user I prefer more stable and of course cheaper cryptocurrencies for usage. Additionally 18.000 usd is way too much, and even if someone decides to buy smaller amounts of bitcoin, the currency operates almost as a stock, instead of a tool. Which I believe to be the issue with regular users who look for a decentralized peer-to peer currency. Perhaps BCH now is going to receive these new people. But nothing is for certain, what do you think? [link] [comments]
Mining-dutch got 2 orphans on BCHA Posted: 18 Nov 2020 11:22 AM PST Screenshot from their dashboard. Not long ago people here realized that miners needed to take deliberate action to mine BCHA. Do it wrong, skip tests, get invalid blocks... And these were particularly expensive ones. Reading their discord, I believe they are going for a 3rd one soon:
PS. This 'testing' he is referring to is in production. yay! PS2. Wrong title. Those were not orphans, they were invalid blocks. [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Nov 2020 03:36 AM PST Hi all... Buying btc with ID is a no go for me. Ive had some major issues in the past with identity theft. Someone recommended localbitcoins which seems legit. My question being though, the only amounts for sale on there are 10k plus. I only want to buy around £500 a month. Are there any methods you could recommend that don't require me to send photos of my ID? Thankyou kindly. [link] [comments]
To the people struggling with splitting coins - just turn on CashFusion! Posted: 18 Nov 2020 08:25 AM PST People are already fusing split coins. Most of the fusion transactions are not replayable on BCHA chain. It's the easiest and the most private method or splitting coins. And if you have already split your coins, help others split by turning on Fusion! [link] [comments]
