So I’m trying to onboard my 16yo cousin from a distance... but the Bitcoin.com wallet is not making it as easy as I think we need

    Posted: 23 Oct 2020 08:46 PM PDT

Ok so I set up a wallet for my cousin, funded it with a little BCH, wrote down the 12 word seed, and then helped him import that to the Bitcoin.com app to get his wallet, easy right?

    No

The first thing he tells me is the app wanted his iCloud account to log in, so he gave it... ugh... that should be later, and an option, not the FIRST dang step...

Then he sends me a screenshot of the main screen, it lists "My BCH Wallet" in green, and "My Bitcoin Wallet" in orange below... again arg, why can't it be "BitcoinCash" at least!?!?

Of course he says "ok I see Bitcoin, but what's BCH?"

Then I tell him to open the orange Bitcoin wallet, then the 3 dots at top right, then delete the wallet - which can't be done apparently - WHY!?!?

I know Bitcoin.com doesn't want to be TOO UNFAIR to BTC but geez, they should really make the initial experience a little bit better for newbies... and BCH

System language breaks Cash Register app by Bitcoin.com

    Posted: 23 Oct 2020 07:45 AM PDT

You know most of the awesome BCH adoption videos you see in stores are using the BCH Cash Register app. However some recent updates have broke it's functionality.

The last issue was that if you set your Android system language to a local that uses an alternative decimal separator or numeric system it breaks the amount section of the payment URL.

It will work well as long as the numbers in system are: 1234567890 and decimal separator is dot (.) but it will break otherwise. I've tried to report it on Github repo but there was no way to report the issue.

Example of decimal separator issue I scanned with QRcode reader (Italian language):

    bitcoincash:qzz4zphv4daakgna20se83cnmne29vlmwgmcqa8jeq?amount=0,00046204

Example of digits format (Arabic–Hindu numerals):

    bitcoincash:qzz4zphv4daakgna20se83cnmne29vlmwgmcqa8jeq?amount=????????

UPDATE: a fix for the issue have been released, thank you for helping bring this issue into attention.

r/Bitcoin is filled with fan girls who know nothing

    Posted: 23 Oct 2020 07:49 PM PDT

Majority of the r/Bitcoin sub is filled with a bunch of kids who have a few dollars in bitcoin just spamming the sub and talking about how much of a bitcoin maximalist they are. Majority of the top heads who were promoting bitcoin before the 2017 halving aren't even dick riding bitcoin as hard or claim theirselves as maximalist. All these little kiddies do is slob on the knob of any famous person who supports bitcoin such as Jack Dorsey even though jack is a complete moron. They don't realize that blockstreams bitcoin is not even the real bitcoin. Me Like many other people we have been using bitcoin since the Silk Road days and blockstreams bitcoin is not the same as this bitcoin. Bitcoin cash however is the real bitcoin is transacts as fast as the original one and fees are almost free that's how a P2P currency should be and I think the real bitcoin is what scares banks and corporations. Banks and corporations are only flocking to blockstreams bitcoin because they're the ones manipulating it, they know they can completely take it over and form a brand new slave system out of it. Sadly since banks and corporations are against bitcoin cash I think they will do everything in their power to keep it out of the game that's when majority of the world is using crypto as our official currencies.

When newcomers to Bitcoin begin to understand on-chain tx fees...

    Posted: 23 Oct 2020 08:32 AM PDT

As I fully expect Bitcoin's popularity to rise in the near future, I've been interested in seeing reactions of newcomers to Bitcoin (BTC) when they first experience trying to use it as peer to peer e-cash , especially for small tx. There are probably many people who own Bitcoin today, and there will be many more within the next year, who were not around in 2015-2017 during the scaling debate, who will be quite surprised to find that sending a BTC tx on-chain usually costs several dollars per tx, and they might be shocked when the market rises further and those tx fees rise to new heights. BCH should be a welcome alternative to those wishing to use it as peer-to-peer e-cash and transact on-chain, especially for small amounts.

    It's Fusion Friday!

    Posted: 23 Oct 2020 10:47 AM PDT

CashFusion makes Bitcoin Cash a privacy coin. It's already been used to fuse hundreds of thousands of BCH!

Make sure to spin up Electron Cash 4.2.0 today and get that liquidity flowing! (The more people using CashFusion at once, the more Fusions happen, and the larger your "anonymity set".)

New to CashFusion? No problem, getting set up is EASY =)

Just download the Electron Cash desktop wallet. It's got CashFusion built in!

Set up your wallet (and be sure to write down your recovery phrase on a physical piece of paper, especially if you are going to hold significant amounts of coin in the wallet), then activate CashFusion by clicking the icon in the lower right:

    https://i.imgur.com/DXEPLtf.png

Once it's activated, your wallet will start "fusing" the Bitcoin Cash it contains. Fusions happen over time as their own, separate transactions, and only cost you the network transactions fees (less than a penny). Each fusion transaction will include some of your coins*, so it will take multiple fusion transactions before all the coins in your wallet will be fused. (In the View menu, toggle the coins tab to see all of the coins in your wallet. In the "Label" field, fused coins will show CashFusion info.)

Currently, Electron Cash keeps fusing your coins indefinitely. While it is on the roadmap to give you the option to stop fusing after some number of fusions per coin, there's no downside to leaving it to fuse continuously besides paying the transaction fees. (And every fusion gives you that much more privacy, while you are helping to provide "liquidity" for other fusers.)

Also, EC does not yet prevent you from spending unfused coins, nor does it prefer fused coins when spending, so it's probably best to leave it fusing and keep your whole wallet fused, and/or pick your coins manually from the Coins tab. If you want that coin-management taken care of for your (and/or you're not comfortable picking coins to spend from the Coins tab), you can always switch back to CashShuffle for now in the Optional Features window, accessible from the Tools menu.

Here's the CashFusion Telegram group where you are welcome to ask questions. (Just remember to be courteous!)

    Happy Fusing!! <3

*"Coins" are kind of a confusing concept when it comes to Bitcoin, but you can think of them just like discrete "bills" (or... "coins") in your wallet, but instead of coming in only certain sizes like $1, $5, $10, $20, etc, they can be any amount sent to you in a previous transaction, like 0.618 BCH, 0.000001 BCH, or 123.45679 BCH. (They can also be combined and split up. That happens in most transactions!)

In 10 hours the Stand campaign ends at Fundme Cash

The idea of this plan is to have a presence on the streets where there are more people, With 1 BCH we can do all this

    1-download many wallets

2-adoption with entrepreneurs, and street vendors

Promote companies that use Bitcoin cash such as Venezuelaworkers, Instabitcoin, local.bitcoin, Binance, etc.
