Sold over 100K USD in stocks for 100% BTC

    Posted: 23 Oct 2020 10:01 PM PDT

    Hi all,

I have been reading into BTC for months now and am sold on the idea of BTC. Have liquidated my entire portfolio (>100K USD) to invest in BTC. As it stands, my portfolio is 100% BTC.

Before you guys call me stupid, I am investing as much as I can afford to lose. It did not take me very long to save this money and my earning potential is growing rapidly. If I were to lose all my BTC tomorrow, my quality of life will not change (although my aspirations of retiring early may change).

Also, I have become my own bank. Feeling incredibly empowered :)

How many out there have done the same?

TL;DR Sold over 100K in stonks to go 100% in BTC

    EDIT:

Lots of comments about keeping quiet about the amount of BTC I have. Is there something that I am missing?

This is a brand new throwaway account. I don't ever plan on disclosing my age, location, sex etc etc.

Why would I be a target for hackers/thieves when in actuality, there is no proof I have 100k in BTC. I could have 10 dollars, I could have 10 million. Everything anyone ever says is just hearsay until proof is shown.

Learned about Lightning Network today. Mind blown.

    Posted: 24 Oct 2020 01:55 AM PDT

I finally looked into how the Lightning Network works, and holy shit it's a game changer (on top the already existing game changer, btc). Zero fee transactions or extremely low fee transactions (depending on the number of hops in the payment path). Even 1 or 10 sat tx for 0 fee, if you have a payment channel open with the node you're paying.

If you're interested in learning about Lightning, these videos are pretty good: 402 Payment Required: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmoQ11MXEmajsUw95Fq6fHzXnVmoMPIeV

We know Btc is going to dominate as a store of value, but Lightning is going dominate as a scalable payment network

This will put so much pressure on Visa, Cirrus, Paypal, Venmo, etc after it gets more adoption. In the very near future, electronic payment companies & banks will need to "pivot to a business model of creating value", instead of just living off rents from their legacy banking infrastructure.

In 2021, there are some things that will fundamentally change

    Posted: 23 Oct 2020 07:19 PM PDT

    1. People who presumed this was going to go away will have to come to terms with the fact that it isn't.

    2. Very rich people will have to wrestle with knowing that they may be running out of time where they can afford a whole Bitcoin.

    3. Lamborghini will have to have to come out with an air tight / tracked model of their car so that we can drive it on the moon from citadel to citadel.

Not long ago, we were excited for bitcoin to break 10k. Now we are used to 13k.

When the time really comes, we don't have time to react. Bitcoin doesn't care, the king stays.

In the long run bitcoin will be 10x to 100x less volatile than gold and oil

    Posted: 23 Oct 2020 07:50 PM PDT

    Why?

Because the supply from mining is predictable. Whereas in gold and oil if its price goes up alot theres going to be alot more mining inflating the market whith alot more gold and oil, making the stock to flow going down, and crashing the price to adjust to its real value for a smaller stock to flow commoditie.

PS: I just was dreaming about lambos and come to this conclusion. Would like to get your opinion.

EDIT1: Another though that comes to my ass is that bitcoin in the long run will always have better performance than most stocks till it gets the main currency, because it only needs 10 to 20 years of running without problems for people start to invest without fear of losing it all. They dont need to wait for quarter results to see if the company is getting better revenue year on year.A company has to prove itself every single year even if they are the leader of their market, because the competion is always ready to take its place. Bitcoin just needs to prove its capable to be the best store of value and then people will buy it without even thinking about it, like the avarage joe do when they deposit their savings in the bank at 0.0001%
