When will ethereum mining stop working? Posted: 29 Sep 2020 02:16 AM PDT I could have sworn that I read somewhere that during the switchover to ETH2 mining was going to change, where a percentage of the mining would go to miners and a percent to staking, but now after a couple of hours of trying to find where I read that, not only did I not find it but I also could find nothing at all about when mining would actually stop working, or what happens on the day it does, or how to sell existing coins, or anything that would give me actual practical information to plan on the upcoming change. All I could find were either repetitive rudimentary explanations of what PoW vs PoS is, or why it's going to happen, or what the roadmap looks like (again, without any details of how things will actually play out), or speculations on what will happen to the price, yadda yadda yadda etc etc and so on. Is it going to go from "mining works fine, we're good" to "damn, nothing is happening" at the flip of a switch? If so, do we know when, as in, do we even know which phase this is happening in? New Nvidia Driver 456.55 over 60 MH/s RTX 2080 Ti Posted: 28 Sep 2020 06:29 PM PDT I just updated my driver and I noticed my hash rate jump up significantly. I'm up about -/+ 5 MH/s since the update. Anyone else notice a bump in their hashrate with the new driver? [link] [comments]
Single gpu miners. Remove your side panel! Posted: 28 Sep 2020 11:51 AM PDT Stumbled across this tonight its obvious that the gpu would run cooler with it off just didnt realise how much. Using a 5700xt thicc 3 and took the panel off the case to peer inside to check the bios switch that ive been reading about. Quick check on temps and went from 64c and mem 88c to 51c and mem 76c. Its also using 5 less watts. 110w @ 54 mh/s now :) [link] [comments]
