The same user who got BitcoinXio banned, also tried the same tactic with me and I received a warning from Reddit mods.

I posted about that at the time and now it is clear. JStodd is not only is the one trolling and dragging the community into mud, he also abuses the report feature as a weapon.

My post around the time, Jstodd used the same exact modus operandi:

    https://reddit.com/r/btc/comments/gfyms9/i_am_now_being_actively_reported_for_harassment/

BitcoinXio should be unbanned and instead maybe warned for losing his temper, that's assuming his account wasn't compromised.

JStodd should be the one immediately and forever banned.

Why are so many companies and big people within the crypto community silent supporters of Bitcoin Cash?

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 06:11 PM PDT

I've been into Bitcoin Cash for a while now, and I've noticed that a lot of big people and companies that support it, but are not very public about their support for it. Some of the biggest examples being bitpay, Coinbase, Bitmain, Bitcoin.com, Gavin Andresen, and Mike Hearn. Excluding Bitcoin.com, the rest of these people and companies have given indication that they support Bitcoin Cash as a cryptocurrency, but haven't been very vocal supporters of it. There has been the occasional sign that they definitely favour and support Bitcoin Cash over Bitcoin, but they haven't bothered putting a great deal of resources towards promoting it, or being very vocal about their support.

Gavin Andresen has said some good things about Bitcoin Cash back in 2017, and to my knowledge done some work on graphene, but he does not really talk about BCH anymore, and is mostly doing work on Ethereum. It was pretty clear that he really supported the big-block ideology, but he wasn't active in promoting BCH. Bitpay and Coinbase are also pretty big supporters of Bitcoin Cash, but they're not very vocal about their support for it either. Does anyone know why these companies are silent about their support for BCH despite the fact that if they did actively put resources and time into supporting Bitcoin Cash, it could mean a big difference for the future of Bitcoin Cash?

PSA: Shills have failed to sway the people in this subreddit from the Idea of P2P Money so they changed tactics: They are now trying to mass-report multiple top users in here, even mods and get them banned. Endgame is probably to get this sub "quarantined" or removed for some bullshit reason.

How big does the block size have to be if everyone in the world wants to use BCH?

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 07:20 PM PDT

Basically the title. Let's say the 7 billion people in the world make 4 transactions a day. So 28 billion transactions. Does anyone know how big the block size has to be for that? I wouldn't even know where to start when it comes to doing the math

What are some examples of highly successful volunteer-only open-source projects, besides GNU and Linux?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 01:05 AM PDT

It is the exception rather than the norm for open-source projects to rent-seek. I think that having a highly-visible list of successful open-source projects that don't claim a cut of their users' revenue will be helpful in this ridiculous IFP debate.

I have finally released the first revision of my paper on Bitcoin governance. Encompassing the failures & successes of Bitcoin, lessons that can be applied to BCH in a post-ABC world. I hope that it will serve as a guideline for the future to come:

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 03:51 AM PDT

Bitcoin Cash is being criticized and trolled on Twitter, it's difficult to discuss Bitcoin block size and scalability, almost everybody is convinced that Bitcoin can't scale onchain, brainwashing works perfectly. I'm glad I found this community to discuss Bitcoin model and economic design and understand more about the disputes between BTC/BCH.

I want to thank everyone in this sub.

EXPERIMENT: Can Bitcoin Fund a College Education?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 02:21 AM PDT

So I have a wild idea for my college thesis statement: can I pay for my entire education using exclusively Bitcoin? I know, it's a complete shot in the dark, but it's worth a shot in my eyes _^ I'm going to post a Bitcoin address to a currently empty account around various websites in the hope that some kind Bitcoin strangers might donate a fraction of a penny. Every cent adds up, anything will help!

31 talks from the 1 Aug ForkDay Anniversary Livestream now available. Please download them before Bitcoin ABC forces me to delete them

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 07:14 AM PDT

    Here are the videos:

    https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFtsWUvuK28WwGAOTrYMpMK5__2q0MCDF

Here are the 34 talks from the marathon 17.5-hour ForkDay Anniversary livestream I conceptualized, planned, organized and ran as a volunteer for BitcoinCash.org on 1 Aug 2020.

    https://2020.bitcoincash.org/

There are some real gems here.

So please download them using a tool like https://www.clipconverter.cc/ because Antony Zegers of Bitcoin ABC has served me with notice he considers the videos to be property of Bitcoin ABC and will sue me to cause me to take them down.

    https://smallpdf.com/shared#st=381cbc43-6fbc-4ccd-9620-918950910b7b&fn=Cease+and+Desist+-+George+Donnelly+-+2020-09-09.pdf&ct=1599833542476&tl=share-document&rf=link

In defense of Antony and Bitcoin ABC, I received a salary as an employee of ABC until the day before the event, the event was livestreamed on their BitcoinCash.org YouTube channel and they contributed funds to permit me to upgrade my Zoom account, where the event was held, during the time of the livestreaming.

I waited 5 weeks for them to release videos and they seem to be very selective at best. I went out and got all these people to join BITCOIN CASH for this event, not Bitcoin ABC. So I feel it is my responsibility to put these videos out there and fulfill my responsibilities — even if I can only keep them up briefly.

The videos will likely have to come down unless Antony and Amaury realize how self-destructive this legal threat of theirs is.

Even if the videos come down, I will run another event like this on 1 Nov. We will do it even better and the videos from that event will be released into the public domain for all to use.

EDIT: The last 3 are still exporting and I will upload them as soon as possible.

EDIT: I also have the full zoom recordings and have already provided them to several of the speakers, including to Bitcoin ABC. If someone wants them, reach out and I will send the link. https://t.me/georgedonnelly

EDIT: For the record, I consider that I created these videos as a volunteer for BitcoinCash.org, not for Bitcoin ABC, and that my contract with Bitcoin ABC was for a project other than this. Therefore, claims of breach of contract are out of place. Further, I made promises to valuable Bitcoin Cash partners to publish these, and I gave ABC 5 weeks to do it themselves.

    It's Fusion Friday!

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 07:04 AM PDT

CashFusion brings exceptional levels of privacy to Bitcoin Cash, comparable to (or maybe even superior to) other privacy coins. It's already been used to fuse 740,997 BCH, and has reduced the size of the UTXO set by 50,887 outputs.

Make sure to spin up Electron Cash 4.1.0 today and get that liquidity flowing! (The more people using CashFusion at once, the more Fusions happen, and the larger your "anonymity set".) If you had the pre-official-release 4.1.0, or the "release candidate" (with "rc" in the file name), you can update to the official 4.1.0 release for the latest version.

New to CashFusion? No problem, getting set up is EASY.

Just download the Electron Cash desktop wallet. It's got CashFusion built in!

Set up your wallet (and be sure to write down your recovery phrase on a physical piece of paper, especially if you are going to hold significant amounts of coin in the wallet), then activate CashFusion by clicking the icon in the lower right:

    https://i.imgur.com/DXEPLtf.png

Once it's activated, your wallet will start "fusing" the Bitcoin Cash it contains. Fusions happen over time as their own, separate transactions, and only cost you the network transactions fees (less than a penny). Each fusion transaction will include some of your coins*, so it will take multiple fusion transactions before all the coins in your wallet to be fused. (In the View menu, toggle the coins tab to see all of the coins in your wallet. In the "Label" field, fused coins will show CashFusion info.)

Currently, Electron Cash keeps fusing your coins indefinitely. While it is on the roadmap to give you the option to stop fusing after some number of fusions per coin, there's no downside to leaving it to fuse continuously besides paying the transaction fees. (And every fusion gives you that much more privacy, while you are helping to provide "liquidity" for other fusers.)

Also, EC does not yet yet prevent you from spending unfused coins, nor does it prefer fused coins when spending, so it's probably best to leave it fusing and keep your whole wallet fused, and/or pick your coins manually from the Coins tab. (If you want that functionality and/or you're not comfortable picking coins to spend from the Coins tab, you can always switch back to CashShuffle for now in the Optional Features window, accessible from the Tools menu.)

Here's the CashFusion Telegram group where you are welcome to ask questions. (Just remember to be courteous!)

    Happy Fusing!! <3

*"Coins" are kind of a confusing concept when it comes to Bitcoin, but you can think of them just like discrete "bills" (or... "coins") in your wallet, but instead of coming in only certain sizes like $1, $5, $10, $20, etc, they can be any amount sent to you in a previous transaction, like 0.618 BCH, 0.000001 BCH, or 123.45679 BCH. (They can also be combined and split up. That happens in most transactions!)
