Staking / Cold Storage w/ Ethereum Posted: 16 Aug 2020 11:44 AM PDT Hi, New to Ethereum. Long-time Cardano holder. Actively respect and support both projects. With Cardano, I can download the wallet, delegate ADA to a stakepool, then turn off the computer / wifi and just leave it locked in a safe for years. I'll still be able to stake and accumulate more ADA in the meantime despite the computer & wallet being turned off and not connected to WiFi. Is there a similar process I can do with Ethereum? If so, how would I accomplish that? Thank you for your help and advice! [link] [comments]
Unable to see ERC 20 token on Ether address Posted: 16 Aug 2020 03:49 PM PDT Hi I had an ethereum account 3 yrs ago with a bunch of ERC20 token. First when I am trying to connect to the wallet in my ether wallet using Ledger Live it doesn't show that wallet in the various eth wallet it shows Second when I search for the wallet address on etherscan it does not show any of the ERC20 token there. It's all gone. While on Ledger Live Ethereum app it shows Ethereum Legacy and the tokens there. So what's going on? Why don't I see anything on the etherscan address for ERC20 token attached to it ? And why MEW isn't showing the wallet address when connected [link] [comments]

Posted: 16 Aug 2020 10:49 AM PDT I just withdrew ETH from Coinbase Commerce and the tx has been pending for 3 hours now. Any insight? https://etherscan.io/tx/0x41b3f194c1d1e51a02dd01a63f19b6ddc019a2a43b61f1988703911c7625f19e [link] [comments]

Uniswap: 25% of traded ETH gone. Why? Posted: 16 Aug 2020 06:43 AM PDT I am aware of the x * y = k Uniswap's formula so that larger trades execute at exponentially worse rates than smaller ones. However, how trading just 200$ of ETH results in getting 150$ of the given token? That's 50$ gone in such small trade. What I am doing wrong? I've been using it for a while without any issues until now. Trade screenshoot here [link] [comments]
Help a noob figure something out? Pls? Posted: 16 Aug 2020 10:06 AM PDT Hi there, I recently sent myself a small amount of ETH from coinbase to etherscan.io Metamask had auto-generated an etherscan.io wallet for me, which I used as a destination to send to from coinbase. However my metamask account is still reading that there is no ETH. What am I doing wrong? Can I just send this back to coinbase somehow? Or how do i get the ETH into my metamask? Many thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Do we need a beacon chain testnet with real value tokens? Posted: 16 Aug 2020 07:21 AM PDT For the pow Ethereum mainnet launch, we had the Olympic stage where we used real GPU hashing power and there were rewards with real Ethers. Without economic incentives, it would be very difficult to have enough hash powers to test the network. Although we managed to gather many validators with no-value testnet Ethers, however the testnet is not simulating the real game mechanism. Essentially it is "Nothing at Stake" situation. I wish there are no technical bugs nor any unexpected difficulties in the mainnet, but it is almost impossible to avoid them. That is why we do experiments with testnets. A bug like time syncing problem can happen. But the real simulation is how to recover and sustain the network in this kind of emergency situation. If validators deposited the real value tokens like using real GPU power with real electricity in PoW, they would act more seriously not to lose their deposit, and it would force them to make consensus as quickly as possible, and this will show the real game simulation. I strongly recommend the final beacon chain testnet uses real value erc20 tokens that can be swapped with real Ethers later. [link] [comments]
Ethereum's Issuance - Two Articles and Some Code to Audit Ethereum Supply Posted: 15 Aug 2020 08:21 PM PDT Here's two articles I wrote: https://medium.com/coinmonks/ethereums-issuance-minerreward-3cad5b9a72ff https://medium.com/coinmonks/ethereums-issuance-unclereward-72de71b0f9f6 and a code base implementing the discussion in the articles: https://github.com/Great-Hill-Corporation/trueblocks-core/blob/develop/src/other/issuance/README.md I'd love feedback on them if anyone's interested. How many are the chances that ETH 1 and ETH 2 will split into 2 chains? Posted: 16 Aug 2020 01:28 AM PDT I guess that when the ETH 2 main net will start the old ETH 1 will continue to exist on it's own chain with mining. How many are the chances it happen/not happen? [link] [comments]
Vitalik on the hard problems in cryptocurrency Posted: 16 Aug 2020 06:10 AM PDT https://vitalik.ca/general/2019/11/22/progress.html If you've not read anything by Vitalik himself, you should. This one single article discusses or hints at sharding (1), Solana proof of history (2), why zk rollups are coming (3), pros and cons of ASIC resistance (6), useful proof of work (7), the additional trust requirements of PoS (8), MakerDAO (10), game theory of public goods (11, 14), democratic (non-plutarchic) voting (15) and why DeFi does not scale (16) [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Aug 2020 12:12 AM PDT I have been into crypto for a long time but had little to do with Ethereum. Why when I try to move some USDC or USDT on Metamask does it just keep taking fees but does not complete the transaction - yes I get it that the network is busy and fees are high and all that crap why take over 6 dollars in fees and still the transaction times out and the USDC has not moved? What kind of a useless system is this? [link] [comments]

is there a miner like nicehash that will send ethereum directly to my wallet? Posted: 15 Aug 2020 10:02 PM PDT I've been using nicehash for a while now but i don't like how i have to withdraw in btc and i also don't like how i have to have like 12 dollars worth of btc before withdrawing. is there a miner like nicehash (that has a gui) that will send ethereum directly to my wallet instead of having me withdraw it from their website? Alternatively, could i configure the nicehash client to send the btc directly to my wallet instead of the one on their site? From what i've seen it sends btc to "my" wallet on their site every time like 40 cents worth of btc is accumulated. Sorry if that's a stupid question. And before anyone says it, i know that i'm paying more in electricity and i should just buy the crypto instead but i live in greece and since the greek government IDs are basically just a piece of paper without any serious anti faking measures, no kyc service accepts them.
