    Just got a letter in the mail from the IRS.. Coinbase??

    NEVER owned ANY funds in Coinbase. I simply had an account there and the IRS sent me a 6174-A. (Look this letter up for context)

    I inquired on it with the IRS directly and was met with an "apology" over the phone, that they're sending these to all CoinBase users whether they have funds or not..

    This letter seemed a bit threatening to me in a sense for just having an account there..

    Ugh. Has anyone else gotten this yet? I verified the letter is indeed legitimate and they're in the process of mailing these in bulk since the IRS supposedly subpoenaed Coinbase's account records...

    Is there something I'm not updated on?

    • Fed Chairman Jerome Powell speak Thursday during a virtual version of the Fed's annual Jackson Hole, Wyoming conference.
    • He is expected to outline what could be the central bank's most active efforts ever to spur inflation back to a healthy level.
    • "Average inflation" targeting means the Fed will allow inflation to run higher than normal for a period of time.
    • The effort will be the reverse of former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker's rate hikes instituted to quash inflation in the 1980s.

    How to people convert BTC to USD via APIs?

    If you ever received an IRS letter about cryptocurrency, can you explain what happened?

    I got letter 6174-A in the mail last week and have already contacted a crypto attorney/CPA to start amending tax returns, but am curious what other peoples' experiences were in the past. Was anyone audited even after amending? Did anything lead to criminal charges?

    Is anyone doing a payment round up card or app that collects and deposits into crypto in the U.K.? I know Revolut do, but I have only seen bad reviews.

    I figured the fastest way possible for an ordinary joe like myself to become a bitcoin millionaire is to simply acquire 10 coins and HODL that shit for the next 5 year bull run.

    By the next Halving the price of 1 coin most likely will be anywhere from 100k-200k
