Serious question: What is the current sentiment on NANO?

    Posted: 26 Jul 2020 02:19 PM PDT

Just saw that it was heading out of the top 100!

That's insane. But what do you guys think about it as a project in 2020? Do you expect it will die out or pick back up?

Genuinely curious to hear opinions on this.

The Preemptive Guide to Staking SWTH

    Posted: 27 Jul 2020 03:12 AM PDT

Staking node cost just over $10k, It will end up somewhere near to $300k+

    Posted: 27 Jul 2020 04:27 AM PDT

At the time of this post Staking node cost just over $10k

Let's do some maths, Yearly reward will be paid in ETH ~ 5.8474 ETH (could be different if loads of people stake), If:

    | 1 ETH = $5k x 5.847 = ~$29k Yearly Reward

    | 1 ETH = $8k x 5.847 = $46.5k Yearly Reward

    | 1 ETH = $10k x 5.847 = $58k Yearly Reward

Considering the above reward, staking nodes will end up close to ~$300k - $320k due to the demand and if you are not running your own node then you will use a pool of staking giving away your profit to the pool handlers

Can we discuss "Be your own bank" and why it will never happen full scale?

    Posted: 26 Jul 2020 08:39 AM PDT

One of the biggest pro arguments about crypto is "be your own bank", meaning you should be in charge of your funds and nobody should be able to stop you from your decisions. According to this post there is no reason for people to have so much power over their finance.

    https://www.theblockcrypto.com/post/72200/coinbase-says-it-prevented-over-1000-customers-from-sending-280000-worth-of-bitcoin-to-twitter-hackers

Those centralized institutions saved more than 1000 people from their stupidity. While 1000 seams not a lot of people in the world, we still have mostly people in the space that are tech savy. So this number can only go up if we would ever reach world wide adoption.

But lets assume there is a law or some event happening and everybody in the world has to use a crypto wallet for their finances. Do you think people, especially older ones, would be comfortable with all their life savings on hand? One bad decision or error and all gone. One bad actor scamming or mugging them. And in a blink of an eye all gone?

What do you think about this?

The fact that AMPL isn't being explained or debated heavily on this subreddit is CRIMINAL

    Posted: 27 Jul 2020 04:40 AM PDT

Listen, AMPL is a difficult crypto to figure out, and some have called it the "IQ test of crypto". Imagine if every time the government printed money it distributed to ALL wallets equally. That's AMPL.

If you pull it up on Coingecko (which is more accurate than Coinmarketcap) you'll see a coin that has gone up some in price but doesn't look all that impressive. HOLD UP. Click on the button that says "Marketcap" and you'll see the true rise of this monster. It's been "stealth mooning" up nearly 100x in a month, from coin rank # 423 to #28 as of this writing, with little doubt among many people in crypto that it's going straight to the top 10 and probably higher. Question is whether you start learning about it now, or one day in a few weeks when you pull up your trusty Coinmarketcap (or Coingecko) and ask yourself what the hell that little A coin is with the weird name.

Ampleforth. Time to go down the rabbit hole, read about it for a week, ponder its use case and economic implications for DeFi AND as an uncorrelated hedge asset for all of finance. How it can provide needed liquidity automatically for crypto even at massive scale. Maybe as you learn you'll begin to realize the power of this beast, why its momentum during this 100x run in a month is actually sustainable with its growing liquidity pool incentives, and why it could be the biggest thing in crypto since Ethereum and Bitcoin.

Assuming everything I believe about AMPL actually comes to fruition, it could potentially do another 100x in my opinion before settling in the top 3. If you reach this point of understanding and decide to get a piece of the action, you'll probably watch the price for a few days waiting for a dip so you can be part of this revolutionary asset. It'll likely continue to rise, leaving you further behind as it has to almost everyone trying to buy in thus far. It just doesn't make sense but it's real.

If you think this is financial advice, you're wrong, it is not. Read this post then decide if you want to research AMPL further. It can retract supply if it goes below $1 and some people think that will cause a spiral of sellers. It's true this is a volatile growing asset and requires a STRONG STOMACH to hold, but that's literally all anyone has to do to enjoy the ride.

    Exchange for US expats

    Posted: 26 Jul 2020 05:12 PM PDT

I have had problems finding an exchange that I can use. Some exchanges require a US address and US phone number which I don't have. Other exchanges don't allow US citizens. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Long term stability and viability of stablecoins
