    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 08:48 PM PDT

Officially out! Download only at: https://electroncash.org

    What's New in 4.1.0

    • CashFusion is here! To access it, simply right-click on the CashFusion icon in the bottom-right of the status bar. Thanks to everybody that worked on it, in particular: Mark Lundeberg, Jonald Fyookball, Axel Gembe, Calin Culianu and many more that don't fit here.
    • Tx Signing has been significantly sped up for transactions with many inputs. (Mark Lundeberg, cculianu)
    • Tezor HW Wallet: Updated to support latest firmware. #1900, #1902 (Axel Gembe)
    • Fixes for bugs introduced by newer ecdsa libraries that use gmpy2. In particular on Fedora 32 things would sometimes explode when signing a tx or using CashFusion, due to ecdsa API quirks. (cculianu)
    • Fixed ZBar (QR camera) issues on Windows. #1916 (Axel Gembe)
    • SSL Certs: Accept wildcard certs, accept CA-signed replacing pinned self-signed. Servers can now use wildcard certs or switch from self-signed to CA-signed without losing users! (cculianu)
    • Update criptolayer server. #1874 (imaginaryusername)
    • Add electroncash.de block explorer. #1920 (Axel Gembe)
    • Network: Show problematic pinned certificates and allow unpinning. #1919 (Axel Gembe)
    • Update plugin for Satochip hardware wallet to support latest firmware v0.11. #1915. (Toporin)
    • Tor: Make process shutdown more robust. #1893 (Axel Gembe)
    • AudioModem: Fixed to not crash on unsupported platforms. (cculianu)
    • Various internal refactorings, fixups, and internal API improvements. (cculianu, Axel Gembe, Mark Lundeberg)

I proudly announce venezuelaworkers.com: a platform for venezuelans seeking job opportunities and for foreigners or locals to employ them, all powered with Bitcoin Cash (BCH)!

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 11:04 AM PDT

    Hello everybody,

Today I proudly announce Venezuela Workers (venezuelaworkers.com), a website for venezuelans seeking job opportunities and for foreigners or local to employ them, all powered with Bitcoin Cash (BCH). The website is already 100% functional, with a planned launch on our social media networks by the start of next month (August), for venezuelans to start registering.

The website idea was created by Jonald Fyookball, which is behind the creation of all the platform with the support of a few programmers. I recently took the role as executive director of this project to improve the platform visual look and social media marketing.

I encourage people to register to our platform for testing and employ venezuelans. We already have a few freelancers ready to take projects! But as I said before, we'll publicly announce our opening by the start of August, so expect more volume by that time.

Currently, the website allows 0-conf transactions, so the process to deposit and withdrawal is very fast and simple. We also work with an escrow system, so money is kept by the platform when a freelancer is paid to do a job. The resolution of the projects will lead the money to be released by the employer.

We also let workers withdraw money instantly after finishing a work, so no more waiting times of 4-5 days after a job is finished to take it out. This is a huge step forward since there's almost (or not any) website that allow this today.

Are you interested? Please check Venezuela Workers (venezuelaworkers.com) today.

If you face any problem by registering or notice a bug in our platform, please let me know in the comments, so we fix it and help you at the same time.

    Introducing the BitcoincashJ Flipstarter Campaign

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 03:57 PM PDT

    Hey everyone!

As some of you may know, I am the current maintainer of the bitcoincashj library. Bitcoincashj is a Java Bitcoin Cash library. The library currently features:

    • CTOR support
    • 32MB block support
    • Native Cash Account integration (trustless registration and sending)
    • SLP tokens
    • Standard BIP44 derivation (m/44'/145'/0' for BCH, m/44'/245'/0' for SLP)
    • UTXO management when sending coins using SendRequest.utxos
    • BIP47 Reusable Payment Codes support
    • OP_CHECKDATASIG support
    • OP_REVERSEBYTES support
    • Up-to-date hardfork checkpoints

This is all stuff I've added since moving to Bitcoin Cash, but of course some others did help periodically with the code, that's just how open source software works.

I have decided to launch a small flipstarter to allow me to focus more of my time (when not working for my job) on bitcoincashj. This will bring much needed improvements, fixes, and optimizations to the code base.

You can view the flipstarter here: https://flipstarter.pokkst.xyz

The proposal gives 4 tasks that will be achieved if the campaign is funded successfully. These tasks are:

    • Increased reliability of SLP integration.
    • Detailed Java examples of how to make wallets, and use more features of the bitcoincashj Java library.
    • Add Memo support into the library.
    • Maintain upstream bitcoinj improvements and fixes.

The campaign begins on July 31 at 00:00 UTC (in about an hour from the creation of this post).

Thank you guys so much! Have a good day. :)

This will likely drive far more adoption than correcting for historical drift, fixing the DAA, removing the unconfirmed transaction limit, or even avalanche! (Please consider donating today!)

If Greg Maxwell or CSW had suggested slowing down block times we would have all had a nice chuckle and moved on

Release Candidate of Electron Cash with CashFusion is out!!!

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 06:12 AM PDT

Permissionless Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash. Run by the whims of a single egotistical programmer in France. What a joke.

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 04:15 PM PDT

Seriously people. Wake up. This is not why we forked from core. If someone told me 3 years ago this is where we'd be, I would have noped out.

Everybody smiling pretending like the emperor has clothes on.

    What a joke.

When I pitch Bitcoin Cash to my neighbors, I talk about the fundamentals, I get them to install the wallet, and right as I am about to send them their first Bitcoin, they stop and ask how historical drift is going to be corrected. Every time the conversation stops right there. We must fix this!

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 08:46 AM PDT

Correcting for HISTORICAL DRIFT ! LETS DO THIS! and here is why.

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 08:17 AM PDT

    1. It will not help attract new users.

    2. We don't need to do it.

    3. We shouldn't do it.

    4. Picking a random (5 years) correction window is bizarre.

    5. A lot of existing users don't like it.

    6. I don't think any of the other 5000 cryptocurrencies in existence have ever embarked on such a 5 year correction mission to align with a hypothetical genesis reference point to target the 10 minute block discovery window.

    7. The 10 minute block target was just that, a target and NOT AN ABSOLUTE . Blocks don't HAVE to be discovered in ten minutes, it's only the target for how the difficulty adjusts!!!!!

The intention to correct for past drift is misguided.

In our situation we should LET HISTORY BE HISTORY and move FORWARD with a REASONABLE 10 minute block discovery target and avoid the OBVIOUSLY HARMFUL 1 hour discovery oscillations.

    K.I.S.S. (acronym)

    KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.
We are being STUPID in our needless 5 year endevour to correct something that SHOULD NOT and NEEDS NOT be corrected.

Further scenarios.... My coins were stolen, can we please create an algorithm that corrects this?

Oops! I lost my keys! Can we create a correction algorithm to push my lost coins into circulation?!

Satoshis coins havnt moved for a long time! Can we create an algorithm to put these back into blockrewards and disperse over a 7 year time period? We need to make use of these coins and we promised to issue 21 million!

Point is... We should be careful about which things we correct for.

PODCAST Bitcoin Cash at 3: Keep Building, Keep Spreading the Word, By Roger Ver

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 08:21 PM PDT

Dear Bitcoin Cash users, I have hereby formulated the most extensive and complete list with all the advantages of Grasberg DAA and drift correction, here it is - read on:

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 01:33 PM PDT

Let's be clear, Grasberg DAA does NOT actually correct historical drift, it instead creates an ILLUSION that our DAA operated at a hypothetical ideal 10 minute speed for the past 11 years. An illusion, a 'complicated 5 year illusion' that no one asked for.

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 11:22 AM PDT

The illusion doesn't even work because you can look at the source code history and find exactly how we manipulated the discovery of blocks to line up with a misguided hypothetical ideal of 10 minute average blocks for eternity.

IF BCHN splits from Bitcoin ABC, how will decisions be made in BCHN?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 02:55 AM PDT

I suggest a voting mechanism, in which all developers working on the protocol development, and other developers building infrastructure for BCHN, get one vote each.

All further decisions in BCHN can then be discussed and made fairly. When there is any dispute, it can be put to a vote online and live.

We definitely do not want another leader emerging in BCHN!
