Posted: 05 Apr 2020 05:35 PM PDT If I understand correctly the bitcoin halving happens when the blocks reach a certain count. Is this correct? I've heard somewhere that a previous halving was postponed - if true, how? How does the actual halving happen, is it automatic? What do we think is going to happen? When is it scheduled to happen? PSA DONT fall for the coinbase youtube scam Posted: 05 Apr 2020 05:13 PM PDT First of all DON'T do anything that the links tell you to do This link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJr9XtrFZUM) leads to a livestream which claims to be coinbase and says its a bitcoin giveaway but IT IS A SCAM. If you look at their bitcoin address you can see they already have around 2000 usd in it (https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/3QuP5nvjrd9QwwjUxTteN8TtJ8JbMAe9ht). There's lots of other videos which seem the same. Spread the word [link] [comments]

Discussion of the Day: Tron TRX Posted: 05 Apr 2020 05:03 PM PDT -Today's Crypto of the Day is Tron TRX, and it's current price is $0.0126. -Since 2/18/20, I have posted a crypto/asset of the day for discussion. I typically begin by posting the current price, as well as the brief CoinMarketCap summary. If there is a video featuring it on Coin Bureau, I also post that. After a week or so, I usually post replies to some of the posts, and I also add an overall summary of my thoughts, if I plan to hold any, and is so how much. -I strongly encourage everyone to follow up on past discussions and you can still make comments on them. There is a lot of valuable information on many of these posts, so please check them out as you have time. You may learn a lot regarding some of these projects. I know I certainly did! https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/search?q=author%3Ajoenorwood77&restrict_sr=on -My first month or so I featured projects listed on some of the main exchanges. Now I plan to focus on the top 100 on CoinMarketCap. After that I expect to broaden to the top 200, and then some random moonshots. I will eventually create a post looking for any projects I should feature before I eventually close this project. -Just because I feature a project does not mean I like it. I feel discussion on bad projects are just as important as the good ones. It is useful to hear pros and cons about every project, even if you are simply playing devils advocate. -I would say a perfect reply would include at least one pro and at least one con for the project. However, I still feel it is acceptable if you post only pros or cons. If your post does not have any substance to it, "this coin is a scam", "avoid this shitcoin", "this coin will moon to $1000 by the end of 2020", then I will just assume you are posting for personal gain rather than helping the community. If you simply downvote the post without any comments, the only thing you accomplish is having less people view the post. I do not care about Reddit Karma, but if a post drops to zero early on, it can be extremely difficult for people to even find these discussions (which I assume is your intention). -These posts are not meant to be financial advice, but instead to be an educational discussion. Everyone is responsible for doing their own research. For each project, I am interested in learning if you have any investment in it, and if so, about what percentage of your portfolio does it carry. Most importantly, what should we all know; good, bad, and indifferent, about this project? [link] [comments]

Why can't platforms like Coinbase Commerce require confirmations relative to the size of the order?? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 05:48 PM PDT Like seriously, I just got a 0conf on Ethereum in a millisecond, but now have to wait 2 minutes for a $19 payment. Like what, I'm going to reorg 6 blocks for pocket change? Now that said, 8 confs, or 9/10 would be the minimum I would ask on like a $8,000 transfer. But if this was a $2 donation, waiting 120 seconds would be ludicrous. Shoutout to Globee that just zeroconfs everything every time I used them. [link] [comments]

Credibility of odd crypto exchange...? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 10:30 AM PDT Hello. I have someone wanting to purchase something from me for 1 bitcoin. He claims, however, that the crypto exchange that he uses OBNOB.com has told him he cannot withdraw any additional crypto currency for the month. He proposes that I create an account on there and then he send it to me that way. He has already disagreed to send it to my Coinbase address for reasons stated above. I looked at the obnob.com website and think it may be either legit but very basic or simply scammy. The domain has been registered for several years (so it isn't a recent attempt to scam). I looked up it's physical address on google maps and it may or may not be legit. What would you guys do/how would you approach such a situation? I really, really, really want to sell it to him for that bitcoin. Funny thing is that I cannot even find obnob.com in a google search - but then again Google has been impossible to work with for own company for the last 6 months. Thanks in advance!! EDIT: Capitalized the C on "coinbase". Added more descriptive information. EDIT #2: THANK YOU ALL, VERY MUCH!! Who down voted-this question, shame on you. Anyhow, the platform has informed me that they have perma-banned the scammer due to someone else's complaint prior to mine. And, in the comments below, I mention how someone private msg'd me and said they had been scammed too. They had details that I did not mention publicly so I know they were legit. I love you guys, the crypto community as a whole does too, whether they know it now or not. [link] [comments]
