Thread topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Discussion related to recent events
    • Technical analysis, trading ideas & strategies
    • General questions about altcoins

    Thread guidelines:

    • Be excellent to each other.
    • All regular rules for this subreddit apply, except for number 2. This, and only this, thread is exempt from the requirement that all discussion must relate to bitcoin trading.
    • This is for high quality discussion of altcoins. All shilling or obvious pumping/dumping behavior will result in an immediate one day ban. This is your only warning.
    • No discussion about specific ICOs. Established coins only.

If you're not sure what kind of discussion belongs in this thread, here are some example posts. News, TA, and sentiment analysis are great, too.

Comparing the Current Bitcoin Price Movement to That in 2016/2017

    Posted: 18 Feb 2020 04:09 AM PST

The Bitcoin price has increased by more than 300% since December 2018. This has caused many to believe that we are in a bullish market and compare the recent movement to prior periods in which the price increased considerably

If we go by moving averages, the current Bitcoin price movement is similar to that in November 2016. On the other hand, both halvening and the RSI suggest that the current price is at a similar point to where it was in April 2016. All these methods suggest that the rapid gains experienced in 2017 are still some time away.

    Warning (probably old news)

    Posted: 18 Feb 2020 05:37 AM PST

According to local news in my country a person using this site got scammed on app. 50 000 USD and I just wanted to report them somehow.

    https://www.chspremium.com/

I'm pretty new to crypto so it almost feels like I'm spamming since there is so many scams out there. Is there a certain thread or site for these kind of things? Would be nice to have a list of all known scammers.

Ps Kraken is safe right? :)

GaTech researcher looking for the biggest problems you face with Bitcoin

    Posted: 17 Feb 2020 11:51 AM PST

I'm part of the Create-X program at Georgia Tech. I'm conducting research to identify problems people face with crypto and products/services people use in crypto.

I'd really appreciate it if you could take this 2-minute survey

Your responses will help me figure out what the biggest problems consumers face with crypto. I will analyze the response data and summarize my findings in a research article, which I'll post here.

I've posted similar surveys on Reddit back several months ago, received >400 responses, and wrote this Crypto Investor Behavior research article. (Please don't read the article before taking the survey, as it may create response bias).

Thanks in advance for your time! What questions would you like to see in future surveys?

Is it possible to buy spot BTC anywhere using leverage?

    Posted: 17 Feb 2020 03:02 PM PST

This might be a silly question but please help me to understand. If I own 1 BTC and have accounts across all the exchanges, is it possible to buy more spot BTC (not swaps/futures) using leverage? I read that Coinbase Pro has this 3x leverage thing, can I do it through there? What about through other exchanges?
