If you take five seconds to look at the profiles of the people who are posting all this abuse against Bitcoin.com and Roger Ver, most of them are r/bitcoin cult members. Stop upvoting retarded memes and abuse they post, they're not constructive criticism and help no one. Real arguments would be fine, but their kind of people is not capable of those.

Bitcoin.com listing another shitcoin out of many already on every major exchange (BTC, XRP, TRX etc.) is a non-issue. Exchanges exist so that accurate prices can be discovered by the market. It's actually great there's a place now where people skeptical of HEX can sell it to those who likely mistakenly believe it to be a worthwhile investment.

And even if it were an issue, this angry mob approach, instigated by our enemies and supported by some unscrupulous members of the community, would be way an overreaction and a detriment to the community, which is what they want.

BCH has to participate in DeFi or it will hinder its competitiveness as cash. DAOs & native collatarized debt based tokens generating interest, Nimbus can do this. Greater utility increases value, which heightens security, in turn improving utility, this is the virtuous cycle of Bitcoin.

Is a copy of all AA HEX going to the "origin address"? Scam confirmed?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 03:36 PM PST

I've been trying to have an open mind regarding this HEX phenomena. I've done a lot of research on it and have watched hours and hours of Richard's livestreams to try to understand where he's coming from. It basically comes down to "Do you trust Richard Heart" or not. Do you trust him to not dump on the community and destroy the thing he created? Or do you trust his words and his intentions to use his new ETH/HEX wealth for good and to promote the heck out of HEX which might lead to mass adoption and a "number go up" scenario. Think of it the same way as do you trust Satoshi to not dump his million+ bitcoins at any point in time? Earlier today I actually thought the community was over reacting to this whole HEX thing, but then while hanging out in a HEXbad telegram group I stumbled upon some potentially damning info.

It appears that the origin address may be getting a copy of the 500+ million hex that is being minted for users each day through the AA(Adoption Amplifier) - the means by which users are converting their ETH to HEX each day. According to Richard and the HEX website, the origin address DOES get a copy of some of the bonuses / penalties, however it's NOT supposed to also get a copy of all of the HEX that is minted each day. Check these etherscan transactions that show the origin address receiving 500+ million hex from the smart contract.

    https://etherscan.io/ "0xf03bb8351687693c359c5a9359bc0b4391496d52561793fc6b2dd23decea2baf" "0x638851c89156d5cc2fcc5ac7d307585a4e2981ea8eee670321f9ac487636789a" "0x543e80561b1bd61da39a49edb887e20b5159cb2aab1aaab2c25a91c1353f492d" "0x8712c547d749343a25c86c95421c356032576cf321dac36f94493778ce206642" "0x71e5283301415600c9cf61bf4c4bae9ecb87d3c69085bb1e634e2e0c9ddf1b07" "0xbdb2fb936bffc51add6c753233e87cabb879291e1a607e9fecf24b34b04af837" "0x53a50f96386b46b2455605f95524e7788eca94fb9dca3e052b7650d91001574d" "0x28fe085e9cdbd55a146b1883a81568b6d87008b7066f3f1f44a766d66c3c99df" "0x0cd193a27de4257f11bd365008679207c0944fb613e98946845c40cbb763247f" "0x8bf775818a92c1f06f64bb02ac91c916d701327f0aedc7907dc0ac6e93d8f449" "0xf43b1b5a6ab13a014d99c63b9746a00f72685d0bc561da6fd87ad1234958e842" "0x5bf8cdf29267ed4d140648dd699a4e52de80998a069ebbb3f914a54632992b0d"

Something is fishy here. Either this is a major bug in the code, or confirmation of the scam.

I've posted this to Richard directly and I expect him to respond to this. I'll update this post as I learn anything new.

for the record - origin moved the today's aa copy (and more from bonuses) to this address and it got staked for ~3580 days

UPDATE! I received an explanation from someone who understand the HEX smart contract better than I do. The 500+ million hex bonus that we see in the transactions above is NOT a copy of the AA going to the Origin Address. It is the daily payout of the WaaS (We are all Satoshi) bonus which is a percentage of all the unclaimed BTC free claim HEX. This bonus is paid out daily to the Origin Address and will be paid out proportionally to all stakers on "The Big Payday" on day 350 or whatever. I admit I don't fully understand it but there is a detailed breakdown here if anyone wants to dive into it.

    Miners sharing rewards (ABC situation)

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 11:38 PM PST

I've had this thought for a while. What if Bitcoin ABC would include their reward into the code? Something like this: 0.5% of all Bitcoin Cash, mined with Bitcoin ABC, goes to the ABC development team as a second transaction of every block (mined with the ABC client)? Think of it as "a license to use Bitcoin ABC for mining". (Note: this doesn't require any forks and preserves compatibility with other clients)

With the current price of ~$195 and after halving that would be 144 blocks/day * 365 days * 6.25 BCH/block * 195$/BCH * 0.5% ~ $320K/year, which should be enough to have 2-4 permanent team members (depending on their location in the world).

The reason is obvious: they are developing this software and it's a reasonable expectation to be compensated.

The benefits are obvious: we'll get a funded developer team without having to ask any companies to pay for it (except miners, of course).

The downsides are less obvious. 1) Would miners' margins allow 0.5% to be shared? 2) Would miners leave and use competing software to mine without giving away 0.5%? 3) Should it be 1%? 0.25%?

Another added benefit might be that if ABC doesn't serve miners well, they could just leave for the alternatives

    What are your thoughts?

(It will lead to a situation where we would have 0.5% less hash rate for the same buck, but realistically I think it makes no difference at all.)

EDIT: Note that this is not a consensus rule change and doesn't require any forks. ABC will still be compatible with BU, Verde, Flowee and BU and vice versa. Miners are free to switch at any time.

Quantum computers and the Bitcoin Blockchain Or: Does Bitcoin (Cash) have a plan to prevent someone with a quantum computer from stealing all p2pk Satoshi coins?

    https://www2.deloitte.com/nl/nl/pages/innovatie/artikelen/quantum-computers-and-the-bitcoin-blockchain.html

In my eyes, this is the biggest concern: will unmovable P2PK coins inevitably be stolen by someone who implements Shor's algorithm on a large enough quantum computer?

What is the whole controversy surrounding Bitcoin.com's listing of the HEX token? I'm a bit out of the loop on this one...

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 08:14 AM PST

I was browsing through this sub when I saw that people were upset about the listing of the HEX token on the exchange. I don't know much about the token, but I heard that it was solely made for the purpose of making Richard Heart rich. Can anyone please explain in simple terms what's actually going on, and why people hate the listing of the HEX token so much right now?
