Posted: 17 Dec 2019 06:44 AM PST - Miners need to be incentivised to protect the network - More block reward leads to higher hash power - Higher block reward means shorter transaction finality - Very low block reward means very long transaction finality - The block subsidy to date has made up >95% of block reward - The supply schedule of BCH will eventually eliminate the block subsidy - In that time transaction fees will have to go from 5% of block reward to 95% If, for the sake or argument, we assume that BCH succeeds over the next 100 years, is a genuine competitor to US dollar hegemony, and needs to protect itself from nation state attacks on mining... the block reward will have to be very high eg. $200bn (since US Military budget is $700bn)... What are the projections in terms of volume and average txn fee? What would that require the block size to be?
