I am Conducting a Survey on Cryptocurrency

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 01:26 PM PST

    Hi /r/cryptocurrency,

I'm a researcher in the department of anthropology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I am conducting an ethnographic study of cryptocurrency, which involves surveying cryptocurrency users. All survey results will be published as well as a paper documenting the results. There is an opt-in short interview and interviewees have a chance of winning 0.25 eth! (or cryptocurrency of equivalent value)

Here is a link to the survey: https://surveys.illinois.edu/sec/3495796

Thanks for reading and have a great Thanksgiving!

Best exchange for experimenting with developing an automated trading bot?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 11:23 AM PST

I'm interested in experimenting with writing a trading bot for alt coins. Any suggestions for an exchange to run it on? The most important criteria to me would be:

    - Must do business in Canada

    - API quality (reliability and usability)

    - Reasonably scandal-free (This seems to be a relative term in this space)

Transaction time too long but confirmed

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 02:25 AM PST

    Hello!

I've been waiting for a transaction to appear on my (free) wallet for almost a day now, I sent like $75 and it already got 126 confirmations but it still not available for me. I can see it in the history but cannot transfer them. I came aware that freewallet might be a scam site just after the transaction was made. I'd like to ask you guys, should I forget about those coins? Here's the txid: ae143be101bd1b2f66b808c9d73ec3b03eca2f1615f7ec20c5231430939e6862 And my wallet: 3QqvttKUjGdE3rGbeZ1LRHzpNCFcXdhXLq

Waltonchain Mods Deleted Another 'TOKEN SWAP' post!

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 01:54 AM PST

Hi guys, I'm the mod that deleted another brigaded post about token swap.

What happens in our sub is that people from tribes of another crypto (in this case, and in all previous cases its the same community unfortunately) pose as investors/supporters and ask a question while fudding hard.

What they then do is go and comment lies, misinformation, and upvote tf out of it. Similar to how they do this on r/cc and have previously been banned for doing so. The next step of their tried and tested method of misinformation and FUD is to post on r/cc with a title like I have, and claim they were fully invested but sold due to xyz reason. These people are scammers that misinform and purposefully deceive the crypto community for their own benefit. In this case, they are against Waltonchain because they believe it to be a scam - even though the team is literally helping to set China's blockchain standards along with another project, Matrix AI Network, and entities like Tencent, Zhong An, Alibaba and JD.

I can almost guarantee that this post will be either downvoted or reported and removed, but then another will surface which will be brigaded like f.

This is an example of the tactic these, most likely paid gaslighting experts, are doing... read this

"Wtf is going on with token swap???It seems like a month ago they said token swap was coming.Seems like they are just doing the same thing as last April in order to dump the rest of their coins.Does anyone even have proof they followed any of the multiple "lockups" "

    Just to answer this,

    1. Token swap is happening - it has already occurred on two exchanges and talks are still happening with Huobi and Binance.
    2. Token swap with personal wallets will be happening between now and January according to the latest update in Telegram.
    3. 'they are doing the same thing as last april in order to dump the rest of their coins' is a FUD comment. EVERY ICO raises money to develop their project - and subsequently they do sell tokens on the open market to do so.
    4. Yes, proof of lockup is that they have not sold any of the funds that you guys have said they did. For example, you've repeatedly said the team sold all the GMN payout funds. That was a lie.

For all communities I urge you to ask questions - always seek answers and verify everything. But if you're entering a public forum to fud a project to mislead people AND have masses of your group brigade-upvote the post & negative comments, and to brigade-downvote the actual answers, then yes, I and the mod team will 100% call you out on it and delete the post.

Also, if anyone really wants to keep up with the project the best way to do so is on Twitter or Telegram.
