Posted: 04 Jun 2019 07:44 AM PDT After hearing about the Binance hack, our engineering team quickly came up with a use case involving the OriginTrail protocol and the Ethereum blockchain that can better track such events. We used the data available from the Bitcoin blockchain, put it in the context of GS1 standards for tracking goods and events, and published it on the OriginTrail Decentralized Network as a layer-2 solution. Using OriginTrail's underlying data layer capabilities and ArangoDB graph technology, the team was able to easily aggregate information in the GS1 EPCIS structure, enabling us to do a graph visualization of how the stolen funds are being transferred and to add new, unstructured data to the graph as it becomes available. The decentralized network is itself designed for storing large amounts of data at low cost, and making it tamper proof with blockchain fingerprinting allows for an organically growing globally shared knowledge graph to be an excellent L2 solution for data scalability in the Ethereum ecosystem. We dive deeper into the tech and the knowledge graphs in a new blog post: https://medium.com/origintrail/poultry-and-coins-origintrail-knowledge-graph-explained-using-the-binance-case-34627177d253?source=friends_link&sk=7784a7fdcf090227d3df7266eedec461 [link] [comments]
Playing With Ethereum in Opera for Android [OC] Posted: 04 Jun 2019 01:49 PM PDT I spent the day figuring out how to use web3js from within Opera for Android. That was a pretty cool experience, and I registered what I learned in this post: https://medium.com/@rpaskin/playing-with-ethereum-in-opera-for-android-d1fb1b0ba7bb It wasn't totally straightforward, but it turns out you can do a lot! Hopefully it will help more people onboard faster. I'd love some feedback. Hope you enjoy it. P.S. Medium asked me something about a paywall, not sure what it means, hope the content is accessible. If not, let me know! [link] [comments]

Asking for collective wisdom: what good use cases for running AI on the blockchain do you guys see? Posted: 04 Jun 2019 04:17 PM PDT Even though the EVM is built on CPU and not capable of executing nontrivial AI programs, let's say we have a public chain built on GPU and capable of running AI. What good use cases for running AI on the blockchain do you guys see? P.S. It seems a bit funny that everyone seems to cares about running "regular" programs on the blockchain but no one seems to care about running AI-enhanced programs on the blockchain. Posted: 04 Jun 2019 03:24 PM PDT If I want to provide liquidity on Uniswap but I only hold ETH, can I just wrap 1/2 of my ETH and deposit both? If so what type of returns would something like this yield? Also how safe is this given the beta status? [link] [comments]

Sugestion about an android/ios wallet to import a paper wallet Posted: 04 Jun 2019 12:52 PM PDT I would like to do a promotional event with my firm and distribute some tokenized assets (ERC20) to current and potential clients. The idea is to hand out some paper wallets with some balance in it alongside some tutorial steps on how to use them. As I've never used papers wallets myself, I'm seeking sugestions on the most user friendly mobile wallet to import a paper wallet. Thank you in advance. [link] [comments]
