    e-mail from Bitfinex, should I worry??

    Posted: 27 Apr 2019 12:59 AM PDT

    Sadly I have not insignificant amount of my founds stuck in Bitfinex.

    I've tried to get my founds out in the last two weeks but the support of the exchange ignoring my questions.

    Please help me with your upvote >>> HERE <<< .

    Thank You!

    Despite they are ignoring my questions i got the following mail from them today:

    Dear Bitfinex trader,

    By now, you may be aware of the events of the last 48 hours, but I want to personally give you an update on what has happened and how we are proceeding as a business.

    On Wednesday, April 24th, the New York Attorney General's office filed a petition and related documents in the NY State Supreme Court in Manhattan concerning Bitfinex and Tether. We believe the petition was based on understandings and materials received by the New York Attorney General's office both from us and from other sources. Indeed, we had, until just yesterday, been co-operating fully with the New York authorities in their inquiries into and about our business. The petition and other materials were filed without notice to us or a chance to respond to them.

    The materials, which do not constitute a civil or criminal complaint are, in our view, filled with inaccuracies and false assertions. In particular, we want to assure you that the allegation that we have "lost" $850 million is categorically false. We have been advised that these amounts – whether in whole or in substantial part – are, in fact, seized and safeguarded in several jurisdictions, including Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United States. We are actively working to exercise our rights and remedies to cause those funds to be released. We are confident in our ability to make clear, coherent, and convincing arguments to recover those funds. And rest assured that we will vigorously challenge the false assertions made by the New York Attorney General's office in their filing.

    I am here to tell you that we are good actors in the digital token space, and we always act with you, the customer, as our first priority. We have always taken our legal obligations very seriously, and will continue to do so. We continue to co-operate with regulators worldwide as they seek to learn more about our business. But we will not allow that spirit of co-operation and goodwill to be used to threaten our customers.

    In the days ahead, you may have questions that arise, and we encourage you to share them with me or other members of the senior management team. We will update you as and when we can and we will address as many of your concerns and questions as we can.

    We have been humbled and encouraged by the support we have seen from our customers and wider community in the face of these allegations. We are here to assure you we're as strong as ever, we are not going anywhere, and we're unwaveringly committed to you.

    Thanks and best regards,Jean Louis van der VeldeCEO

    Announcing SLP Agora, a decentralized on-chain app to sell your SLP tokens for BCH!

    Posted: 26 Apr 2019 12:02 PM PDT

    SLP Agora is a simple trading platform written in Rust where you can put your favourite tokens up for auction — all on the BCH blockchain! It's secured by smart contracts using the new OP_CHECKDATASIG opcode, with the nifty trick pein_sama outlined in their blog and I expanded on later. Some of the other BCH developers have asked me to explain how it works in more detail, and I'll to do a live stream later today where I can answer your questions, technical or non-technical.

    Try out SLP Agora for yourselves! I've added a ~first~ second release, where you can download the EXE files for Windows, or build them yourself for all platforms with the source code. So far, it's only an interactive console application (not pretty but easy to use), however I hope there will be enough interest and support in the community that we're able to build a nice intuitive web interface and create an extensible protocol.

    Likely, there will a couple of bugs in there, so be careful and don't put too much money into the system yet. It's very early development and very experimental. So far, however, it worked surprisingly flawless.

    Also, note that due to the nature of SLP tokens, it's only possible to place sell orders, but never buy orders. I do think, however, that this won't be too much of an issue economically speaking.

    I've already placed a couple of orders for the incredibly useful Tobi's Terrific Trading Token (TTTT):

    ``` Select an option from below: 1: Show wallet balance / fund wallet 2: Send BCH from this wallet to an address 3: Create a new trade for a token on the BCH blockchain 4: List all available token trades on the BCH blockchain Anything else: Exit Your choice: 4 Loading trades... (Note: this might take a few seconds and a trade might need to be confirmed to show up due to bitdb) Your balance: 7159 sats Current trade offers:
    # | Selling | Asking | Price | Token ID |
    I promise to brew you a tea in person of your choice in exchange for 3000 TTTT.
    Jonathan Toomim: "BCH will not allow block sizes that are large enough to wreak havoc. We do our capacity engineering before lifting the capacity limits. BCH's limit is 32 MB, which the network can handle. BSV does not share this approach, and raises limits before improving actual capacity."
    Bitcoin Cash is like transportable digital gold
    Posted: 26 Apr 2019 11:30 PM PDT
    BTC is like transportable silver. Why? Because if you move 1 million $ of silver it's gonna cost you a lot more than moving a million $ of gold, because gold is more atomically dense than ag. Similarly BCH is able to move more transactions every 10 minutes than BTC.
    I had a kilogram of silver once which was $400 , for the same monetary amount you can have a much lighter, small gold coin.
    So the argument for BCH as weightless digital gold and peer 2 peer cash make it such a good asset to look at!
    Some people still say that Core will increase the blocksize limit when needed. I often tell them to propose that to Core and see what happens. I suspect the same thing will happen to you that did to me and others four years ago, you will be banned, censored and demonized.
