    0% capital gains

    Posted: 24 Apr 2019 07:20 PM PDT

looking at finally cashing out some profits in the next bull run yet i want to keep as much of my gains as possible. there is word on the web about Act 20 and 22 in Puerto Rico where traders get to benefit and pay 0% capital gains if they claim residency there.. (live there for 183 days out of the year, have a lease or purchase property, get a drivers licence) etc. My question is .... would i be able to benefit from 0% capital gains with the BTC i bought before the move over to PR? i have only accumulated BTC for the passed 3 years and i have never cashed out to USD or USDT. knowledge is power, i'm here seeking strength :)

Hello, quick questions regarding Electrum, private keys, pass phrase, etc.

    Posted: 24 Apr 2019 11:48 PM PDT

Hello, I've been google-fu-ing for a while now trying to get a good understanding of how this works, before I invest much money.

So I have Electrum as my wallet. I understand that there is a public key that I use to have BTC sent to my wallet.

However, I don't fully understand how the wallet, private key and pass phrase works. I wrote down my long string of words, but I'm learning that this isn't actually my "private key". From my understanding, this string of words can be inputted into Electrum, and the wallet will then use those words to calculate my private key, correct?

If this is the case, what is the file that Electrum has me save on my PC? What do I need that for? Do I need to have that saved forever? Do I need to connect my wallet to the internet ever for any reason?

If you can help me understand this, that would be great, but I'd certainly accept a link to a helpful resource if you can point me towards one!

We have better infrastructure for the next Bitcoin Bull Run...

    Posted: 24 Apr 2019 10:25 PM PDT

I think this the bull run will be longer and more robust simply because we have better infrastructure. At $20,000 kraken, poliniex, Binance, all stopped opening new accounts. I remember binance opened for 1 hr and they signed up 300,000 ppl (binance was getting like 20,000 new accnts a month before) . But this time the big exchanges have the infrastructure to on board new accounts, they won't have to close. But the straw that breaks the camels back would be an ETF. If traditional finance can get access/exposure to BTC through an ETF product via traditional rails I think we actually will go beyond 20k... imho ^
