Question re Taxes: What tax basis are you seeing reported by Coinbase on your CSV?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 12:27 PM PDT

I'm in an odd situation. Doing taxes for a family member who died.

I have a Coinbase CSV for all their crypto activity BUT it doesn't include the cost basis info. I have cost basis info for other the crypto (bcs they were purchased).

But I want to know what you all are seeing for a cost basis for BCH when you download the more complete CSV from Coinbase.

    Thanks :)

[ANN] Announcing Coinster.pro - a directory and platform for Bitcoin Cash services!

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 11:08 AM PDT

What is Coinster? A better question is what is Coinster not? Coinster is a search engine/directory, but just as Google does more than search so does Coinster.

There are themed sections where people can use their Bitcoin Cash. When Yours.org left Bitcoin Cash I promised a replacement for it and FiveBucks.com. The result has become something far more!

    https://coinster.pro (all screenshots)

    Now Published (Theme Section 1)

Long before I got into cryptocurrency I wanted to fix a problem I heard of regarding the popular Harry Potter books. Not many know it's the best selling book in the history of the world second only to the Bible. Even fewer know it almost wasn't published at all. Author J.K. Rowling says nearly every agent she sent it to rejected it! What a tragedy that might have been! Clearly the gatekeepers to the reading public were out of touch with what the market wanted. Thanks to technology such gross negligence need never happen again.

With Now Published content creators can create works of art, then publish them with a few clicks and instantly be in direct contact with consumers who can provide feedback and/or reward them financially. Supported formats include written articles, written books, videos, music and podcasts. Publishers can offer content for free, paid, or free with some paid content behind a paywall, and receive payment by tips, pay-per-access or subscriptions. (Yes, this is effectively a Patreon for Bitcoin Cash)

    This section is completely free.

    Take Five (Theme Section 2)

Economic activity is a focus of Bitcoin Cash, including not only merchant adoption but ordinary people earning & buying with BCH. That's why it was great when FiveBucks.com launched, imitating Fiverr.com. Unfortunately, along with Yours.org, FiveBucks.com left BCH. Take Five is a section where anyone can offer services for Bitcoin Cash, but it goes further. Rather than being limited to just $5, any amount in increments of $5 is accepted up to $500. So if you're sure your voice over service is worth $50 you're coverered!

A private chat board supporting file uploads is available for all jobs. Just search a category, find a desired provider, then work through project details to completion.

Coinster provides dispute arbitration and accordingly charges a 1% fee on completed jobs (currently waived).

    Other Services:

ATM Finder - find ATMS worldwide

Balance Monitor - keep track of cryptocurrency portfolios easily

Payment Tools - tools for crypto payments

    • Payment Calculator - convert payment amounts from different currencies
    • QR Code Generator - generate QR codes for addresses
    • Internet Clipboard - a handy backup when QR code scans are unavailable

More themed sections are already in development, so please stay tuned. The site is very beta! Feedback appreciated.

Bitcoin Cash has lower transaction fees than BTC by a marked degree. Cognitive dissonance will prevent some from seeing it. Others will invest. This is why BCH has seen such large gains recently. (2:54- onward)

It looks like a big chunk of BCH is bought with real money right now, not with Tether.

Why does everyone hate bitcoin cash? It doubled in price and no one is talking about it, no youtube videos or anything.

    What happened to my BCH

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 05:10 PM PDT

I was transferring my BCH from Jaxx to coinbase earlier today. I accessed the legacy address for my BCH wallet in coinbase and sent the coins.

However, when I look at my coinbase account, it says that the transaction is still pending. Following the transactions, there is a confirmed transaction to the address and then another transaction immediately to another address I do not recognize. What just happened? Did I lose my BCH?

Edit: There is also another transaction for 0.00001111 BCH that I did not send that is still pending on my coinbase account.

Edit2: Okay the transaction just confirmed after 2 hours. Wtf is going on? The transaction history has the coins in a completely different place?

not trying to troll... why should i choose bcash over bitcoin or litecoin?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 07:33 PM PDT

Obviously every chain is different, but what does bcash have to offer in the long run besides bigger block sizes? Sure, that means faster transactions and cheaper fees, but it also means that full nodes will be harder to run.

Does bcash have any other solutions like segwit or mimblewimble going for it? If you only keep increasing the block size it will only become more centralized. What is Bcash s roadmap?

edit: also congratulations on the huge pump btw! :-)
