    CryptoBridge: An exchange that deserves more attention

    Disclaimer: I am not affiliated to CryptoBridge (CB), I'm just a passionate user and think more people should give this exchange a chance as it offers some quite unique features and has a super passionate dev team. It essentially really lives the crypto spirit and doesn't just want to make money :)

    Here's a list I have compiled with reasons why CB is in my opinion a great exchange:

    • Partly decentralized exchange built on the Bitshares blockchain.
      • Trading takes place on the Bitshares blockchain, i.e. is fully decentralized.
      • Deposits and withdrawals are currently centralized via the CryptoBridge gateway (basically CB is holding your funds and issues you correspondding I-Owe-You Bitshares assets).
      • Federated gateways are on the roadmap and will further decentralize CB as everyone will be able to run a similar gateway to process deposits and withdrawals. However, federated gateways will not launch any time soon.
    • Due to the blockchain trading, trading is 100% transparent. You see every trade of every user (which can help to make educated guesses when trading), which also means that no fake volume is possible and market manipulation can be easily spotted.
    • Has a market maker program where you not only pay no trading fees, but you even get paid a bit for maker offers.
    • Has a native coin, BridgeCoin BCO, which you can stake to earn a share of the exchange's profits. Currently 75% of all trading fees paid are distributed to BCO stakers.
    • Has a ton of coins listed, both top marketcap coins as well as small/new coins.
    • Has a quite powerful UI.
    • Has very active developers who are also close to the community (discord channels).
    • Has a very active community on discord.
    • Offers live support on discord.
    • Is working on a phone app (currently paused to focus on more important things).
    • Publishes weekly development updates and large quarterly reports.
    • Wants to improve the overall cryptocurrency market/community with many educational initiatives, such as a partnership with DARC, to rate/analyze new coins (basically judging whether new projects are "legit" or just money grabs), quite detailed information about some of the listed coins and also some blog posts and videos about Bitshares and CryptoBridge.
    • Has no withdrawal limits.

    First off I appreciate any feedback I can get.I am a coinbase user in the US and I attempted to sell some crypto at the end of december in order to realize some tax losses.My question is.Did anyone recieve a 1099 from coinbase for tax purposes.I didnt recieve anything and I am a bit at a loss as to what to do?US law requires companies to provide tax documents by the end of january and trying to get ahold of any customer support at coinbase is a nightmare.was wondering what other US based coinbase customers have done and how they navigated this hurdle?Thanks in advance.
