Bitcoin Could Rise 84% in 2019, Say Fintech Experts

    Posted: 04 Feb 2019 09:30 PM PST

We had reported last month that 'Crypto Market Gets 84% Down On Anniversary Of All-time High', however it seems that some experts are of the opinion, that BTC could rise 84% in this year alone.

A group of experts who have been surveyed by Finder.com.au, have predicted that according to their study of the market, Bitcoin could witness a potential 84% price rise in 2019, which to be honest, sounds like a very ambitious prediction to make.

With the current turbulence in the market, it seems unlikely that any such rise will actually take place. Although we are hopeful and do predict a better condition for crypto by the year end than what it was in the beginning of the year, this prediction still seems like a reach for us.

Ben Ritchie, the chief operating officer of Digital Capital Management, has till date made the most bullish price prediction regarding crypto, saying that it could very well reach $9,500 by the end of the year. He said that the increase in the price of the coin will be slow and steady during the year.

Canada’s QuadrigaCX Loses $145 Mil in Cold Crypto Storage After CEO’s Demise

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 11:44 PM PST

Canadian crypto and the country's largest bitcoin exchange, QuadrigaCX, has reportedly lost funds worth CA$190 million dollars ($145Million) from its cold storage, according to a report published on Feb.1. The missing funds include tokens such as Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Cash SV, Bitcoin Gold, Litecoin, and Ethereum worth CA$190 million, according to an affidavit filed on Jan.31. A Canadian news outlet has stated that since the demise of founder and CEO of QuadrigaCX, Gerald Cotten, the exchange has been unable to recover the funds and have no clue as to how and where to locate them. The widow of Gerald Cotton, Jennifer Robertson, has said that her late husband was the only person to have access to the digital assets in the exchange's cold storage. In general, most major exchanges prefer to store a majority of their funds in cold storages as these are "considered" safe from hacking and breaching schemes since they are not connected to the internet and are, therefore, off the grid
