[Altcoin Discussion] Friday, November 30, 2018

    Posted: 29 Nov 2018 08:05 PM PST

Thread topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Discussion related to recent events
    • Technical analysis, trading ideas & strategies
    • General questions about altcoins

    Thread guidelines:

    • Be excellent to each other.
    • All regular rules for this subreddit apply, except for number 2. This, and only this, thread is exempt from the requirement that all discussion must relate to bitcoin trading.
    • This is for high quality discussion of altcoins. All shilling or obvious pumping/dumping behavior will result in an immediate one day ban. This is your only warning.
    • No discussion about specific ICOs. Established coins only.

If you're not sure what kind of discussion belongs in this thread, here are some example posts. News, TA, and sentiment analysis are great, too.

I worked with a few devs and made a free risk analysis tool that integrates bitmex positions and coin holdings. No transaction limit.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2018 08:57 AM PST

    Hey.

I traded in traditional finance for a little over a decade before switching to crypto in jan 2017. One thing that always bugged me was that there were no good tools that netted my futures vs my holdings for a true picture of my risk.

We built a tool that does that for free. It does the calcs to get from your bitmex position to the correct exposure by coin. BTCUSD, ETHUSD quantos, ETHBTC futures (you get an ETH position and a BTC position when you trade this).

Then once we built that, we want to add a professional risk tool to get risk metrics like 1% VaR, 5% VaR and annual expected standard deviation. We built a historical simulator that bootstraps a distribution of daily returns for your portfolio from historical results.

    Some pics.

    The risk tool: https://imgur.com/y6YgkpU
    The portfolio view: https://imgur.com/3yZBIEy

our site if you want to get it: https://settle.finance (we're live)

PS- im a cofounder of this thing, not a marketing rep. if you have any questions, ill give you the best answer i can.

Please help me with a survey on cryptocurrencies

    Posted: 30 Nov 2018 08:37 AM PST

    Hi all!

I'm a psychology student and for a project at the University I decided to make a survey on the level of cognitive engagement of cryptocurrency enthusiasts and how this level correlates with some beliefs on cryptos and trading performances.

The survey is 100% anonymous and it takes only 5-10 minutes to fill out.

You can complete the survey on this link: https://goo.gl/forms/bM4UiOTvlZS8uSru2

Thank you very much! I will share my results with you after I finish this small research.

China’s Center for Information and Industry Development released its 7th crypto project ranking last week

    Posted: 29 Nov 2018 12:22 PM PST

    Hello, guys.

While those whales keep influencing the market, China's Center for Information and Industry Development released its 7th crypto project ranking last week where the 33 crypto projects were evaluated. This month, the center upgraded BTC from the 19th place in the previous month to the 13th place.
    https://i.redd.it/3wso5o2kpb121.jpg

The projects were ranked based on their basic technology, applicability, creativity and as a whole. BTC wins the creativity category, EOS is first in the basic technology category and Ethereum is the first in the applicability category. The rankings are organized and implemented by the CCID Blockchain Research Institute and a number of organizations such as the CCID Think Tank and China Software Testing Center.

The evaluation model is based on three key principles
    1. The indicators should be adapted to all evaluated objects, not just some.
    2. The proposed indicators should be related to technological innovation in public chains.
    3. The measurement or evaluation of the indicators can be implemented.

And today's BTC price leaves an optimistic vibe to the crypto market in general, it's going up again! What are your prospects for it?
    Best regards,

    /r/TrodaxCat Team.
