The end of an era? 3GB Dag file

    Posted: 30 Nov 2018 05:46 AM PST

Well it seems like the 3GB 1060's I have started rebooting like crazy the last week with dag file errors. It appears the current dag is 2.77GB, which is close enough to 3GB for linux systems to even quit working.

So, end of an era for 3GB cards it seems is upon us on the Ethereum blockchain.

    Upgrading a 8x r9 290x rig with new gpus

    Posted: 30 Nov 2018 12:46 AM PST

Running in datacenter, inside a 4HE enclosed case, industrial fans in front. Power is irrelevant.

The old 290x soldiers are still running fine, but unable to use some newer miners (i.e. teamredminer).
Considering upgrading the gpus, im looking for the most hashrate and not efficiency as a primary goal. That being said, 2080s are just too insanely expensive.

    Stay AMD, maybe RX590s?

Got a second nvidia rig, Id like to keep one amd and one nvidia. But not having to bother with bios modding on nvidia is a plus imo.

    Any opinions are welcome.
