/r/bitcoincashSV is a closed, APPROVAL-ONLY subreddit ? What kind of trickery is this ?

    Posted: 18 Nov 2018 11:36 PM PST

I was curious about the claims of censorship they were making so I tried to check if it is true myself - apparently not.

But another interesting thing came up.

I tried to post there in order to explain situation and debunk these censorship claims...

But I cannot ? The sub is APPROVAL-ONLY walled garden ?

What kind of primitive trickery is this ? This way they can make any kind of claims there with nobody in place to refute it.

Is BSV community even real or is it all fake and tricks ?

    EDIT: Confirmed !!

/u/satoshi_vision just said in a PM to me:

No we just don't allow toxic abusive people like you. We welcome people who disagree but are capable in engaging in respectful discussion, which by your post history you're obviously not capable of such a thing.

So they do verify one's history before they approve, therefore it is an approval-only walled garden.

If you want to dump BSV... some tips on splitting safely. Don't lose your BCH!

    Posted: 18 Nov 2018 11:00 PM PST

Many people are interested right now in gathering up their BSV coins and dumping them on exchanges. Bittrex has just opened deposits however there is a big caveat:

If you attempt to dump your BSV coins onto an exchange like Bittrex, and you have not properly split the coins, a replay attack could result in permanent loss of your (much more valuable) BCH!!!

For this reason it is essential that you split your coins and verify that the coins are split.

Step 1 : get your coins into Electron Cash

Electron Cash ( https://electroncash.org/ ) is the de-facto wallet for coin splitting since it allows you to connect to both BCH and BSV chains, simply by selecting a different server in the Network dialog.

Important: do not make a separate wallet in Electron Cash and send your coins from another wallet. This transaction might fail to replay, though this failure to replay could be temporary and leave your coins in a dangerous state where replays could happen at any time. Instead, you need to load another copy of your wallet in Electron Cash.

Mobile wallet / other software wallet

We will start by importing your wallet seed into Electron Cash.

Create new wallet with type "Standard wallet". "I already have a seed". For BIP39 seeds (see below) click Options button to enable BIP39 seed, and then enter the path on the subsequent page.

    • Bitcoin.com wallet. Options: BIP39 seed. Path: 44'/0'/0' .
      • If bitcoin.com wallet backup page says "This recovery phrase was created with a password. To recover this wallet both the recovery phrase and password are needed." then you must also check 'custom words' and enter your original recovery password on the next page (this may be distinct from your wallet password).
    • Others: to be added...

    Wallet.dat / other non-deterministic wallets

Some wallets don't use seeds and just generate random addresses. You'll need to export your private keys in WIF format, then create a new Electron Cash wallet using "Import Bitcoin Cash addresses or private keys".

    Hardware wallet

Try to set up your hardware wallet in Electron Cash. This lets you transact on both BCH and BSV chains even if the official software for your hardware wallet (such as Trezor's) does not support this.

Step 2 : split your coins

Although there are tools (like my special variant release of Electron Cash) for making split guaranteed split coins from scratch, there are easier ways. In particular if you can get a small 'dust' split coin from someone else, then you can leverage this to rapidly split your whole wallet. I recommend following Calin's guide here.

Calin's guide also has instructions on how to select BCH and BSV servers, so it's a good read regardless.

There are some cases where a BCH transaction fails to replay initially but then later gets replayed. This could mean that your initial 'dust' initially looks like a split coins but is not, and the replay protection is faulty. For this reason, you should also make a conflicting transaction on the BSV chain, by spending at least one of the same transaction inputs back to yourself.

Step 3 : wait a bit, just to be safe.

With threats of block re-organization attacks floating around, you should wait several confirmations to make sure the splitting 'sticks' and is effectively irreversible.

Step 4 : verify the split

Visit these two block explorer sites and enter the transaction IDs of both your BCH splitting transaction, and your BSV conflicting transaction:

    BCH explorer: https://blockdozer.com/

    BSV explorer: https://bchsvexplorer.com/

On each site enter both transaction ID's. You want to ensure here that transaction A is only on BCH chain, and transaction B is only on BSV chain.

If you have failed to split, then one txid will be on both chains. If this happens, don't worry! You can just go back to step 2 and try again.

    Step 5 : send BSV

Now that your BSV is split from BCH, you can send it whereever you want without fear if having your BCH accidentally dragged along with it.

I cannot provide any advice on what you should do, financially, with your BSV coins. Good luck, and stay smart!

/u/deadalnix I just was thinking about how fucking stressful this has probably been for you, and your whole team. I couldn't fault you if you threw up your hands and walked away. I mean this can't be what you imagined when you started this craziness.

I just wanted to say that I feel for you. We are all grateful for the hard work you've put in and the abuse that you endure, and the integrity with which you have handled yourself. BCH is bigger than any one person, but by the same token we wouldn't have BCH without you stepping up to the plate and making it happen. So thanks, keep up the good work. It hasn't gone unnoticed.

Last week there was Bitcoin Cash and 2079 other cryptocurrencies.

Then CSW decided that there should only be one cryptocurrency and it should be Bitcoin Cash. So he created BSV.

Now there is Bitcoin Cash and 2080 other cryptocurrencies.

People using bitcoin.com pool *want* Roger to control their hash.

    Posted: 18 Nov 2018 06:23 PM PST

The narrative that some users are against him using it this way is stupid. No one is going to sue over this, and the pool's available hashrate has not changed since it was used to kick CSW in the balls. People signing up for bitcoin.com's pool chose that pool specifically so it can be uses this way.

The SV troll are spreading FUD that ABC is bankrupting itself by artificially inflating the difficulty. This is stupid. This is why Roger only flex his hash for 24 hours, and it is now back down to levels approximately driven by the economics. If CSW is dumb enough to try some shit again, Roger will turn on his hash again, and all of the pool participants will be happy about it.

P.S. I was banned from /r/bitcoincashsv today for posted about this subject on the day of the fork.

The great SV dumping has begun, you've got maybe 24 hours before it's honeymoon at sub $1.

    Posted: 19 Nov 2018 01:23 AM PST

1/ I'm going with ABC. Here's why: While BTC/BCH split was about economics (of blocks and fees), this fork was imo more about delivery (economics didn't change). ABC side has delivered great software and hardware products, hashpower and relationships

The chain split has been hard on everyone. Try not to take what people said during the stress of the event to heart, and try not to say things now that will further isolate good people.

Losing people who are working hard to build useful tools and create adoption is not what we want.

    BadgerWallet: MetaMask for BCH, Finally!

    Posted: 18 Nov 2018 12:11 PM PST

    https://badgerwallet.cash/

I wanted to move past all this fork drama and point out to everyone (again) just how awesome Badger Wallet is. I've been saying for years that what's really dragging back BCH vs ETH is the lack of easy browser wallet / js apis.

Well, BadgerWallet is it. It's exactly it. It even looks and behaves a lot like MetaMask, and it's quite secure by being a browser extension instead of a localstorage scheme (like MoneyButton)

I think with this, BCH development is finally starting to become somewhat competitive with ETH. We already had good ways to read data from the block chain and make apps (BitDB), but the lack of easy wallet hampered growth

Considering that mttr.app is already a pretty slick replacement for Medium, I think we are all good baby. BCH development looking very strong, and we don't need Nchain money to make it happen

Personally, I'm excited for the future, and I believe that we have proven our censorship and dictatorship resistance once again. Great work fam

PSA: Remember that there has never been an app developer in the space who supported SV except for: (1) app developers who received financial backing from nChain, and (2) BTC Core supporters.

I look at the top coins on coinmarketcap. BTC? It's been dead in the water. Ethereum? Not much to see. Stellar, EOS, XRP? Junk.

Bitcoin Cash is p2p electronic cash for the whole world. Some IP patent trolls tried to take it over, they failed, and now we're getting back to the mission.
