xCurrent is instant settlement Posted: 19 Sep 2018 04:03 PM PDT I'm writing this post because I have noticed a lot of confusion in regards to xRapid vs xCurrent. Today I have read in some comments where it is said the xRapid is the only way for a transaction to settle instantly. That is not the case, xRapid is a way to source low cost liquidity, eliminating the need for Nostro/Vostro accounts. xCurrent settles instantly https://ripple.com/ripplenet/process-payments/ "xCurrent is Ripple's enterprise software solution that enables banks to instantly settle cross-border payments with end-to-end tracking. Using xCurrent, banks message each other in real-time to confirm payment details prior to initiating the transaction and to confirm delivery once it settles." Please watch the video attached. I was getting downvotes when I brought this up and I was getting comments reinforcing the notion of xCurrent not being instant settlement. It's important we understand the products and if I am mistaken please enlighten me [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Sep 2018 06:08 PM PDT I know there's already multiple similar posts... but I keep reading conflicting info (re speed of xCurrent vs xRapid). Can someone clearly breakdown the speed for cross border (xCurrent vs xRapid)? It was my understanding that xCurrent can settle immediately (better than Swift)... but it could also be much slower depending on the countries/cooridorrs involved. Whereas xRapid is consistent in only taking a couple of seconds no matter the situation. Is this correct? And yes, I already know the advantage of xRapid eliminating nostro/vostro, which is huge imo. But interested in the speed aspect. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Is Bittrex up to the job for XRP's inevitable global domination? Posted: 19 Sep 2018 05:32 AM PDT I've just created an account on Bittrex (I'm in the UK, however, I thought it best to have an account with them, due to them being a preferred partner of Ripple) - I'm absolutely shocked at how limited it is, for an exchange that's poised to take on (possibly) $trillions of global money, in every currency around the world, yet it only has USD/XRP pairing, not EUR, GBP, CAD etc etc......any constructive input would be welcomed, as I am confused as to how this exchange will be able to facilitate global transfers, when you can't settle in any other currency than USD. https://ripple.com/insights/xrapid-brings-on-three-new-exchange-partners/ [link] [comments]
How much will Coil monitor our browsing? Posted: 19 Sep 2018 08:16 AM PDT I'm big on privacy and I haven't been able to find an answer to this anywhere so far. Does Coil basically get live-streamed your browsing history? The obvious answer is "yes", but I'm not sure if Coil has built in a way to not actively monitor my browsing history. Or at the very least, will there be a way to turn the XRP stream on and off to avoid logging? [link] [comments]
Companies losing out on transaction costs? Posted: 19 Sep 2018 01:39 AM PDT First of all I firmly believe in XRP, not causing any FUD. I'm doing research (for a major bank) as some might know from a previous post. It made me think... wouldn't banks, or basically any company that profits from fees on payments, avoid using XRP in their business? For instance: a friend of mine owns a restaurant and every time a person pays by card he pays a fee of around € 0.02-0.04 (this isn't even cross-border payments, so no exchange costs and such) and quarterly he pays a fee to use the infrastructure. For him, in the long-run, it would be ideal if there were no fees. However, if banks/companies/payment providers lose out on the money they earn from every transaction on their network wouldn't they simply lose out way too much money? I know that with xRapid it would free up Nostro/vostro accounts but I'm just kind of stuck with this right now. Can anyone shed some light on this and give me some arguments that I could use to rebuttal this? [link] [comments]
Purchase XRP Without Verification Process Posted: 18 Sep 2018 10:23 PM PDT So as the title says, I am trying to buy XRP but i'm having trouble with the verification needed. I am 17, living in US and I want to buy XRP. Every trading site that works in the US requires that you're 18+ to purchase. That is my problem. My family isn't too keen on letting me use them to purchase XRP either, because you have to put in a SSN and they don't understand that these exchanges are safe... Is there any site I could go to and just purchase via my debit card? Or some community I can exchange through? I am desperate and i'm running out of time. Soon its gonna moon. ( I tried localbitcoins. In my area everyone has too high of minimums, I'm only looking to put in $200) [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Sep 2018 11:41 PM PDT Overseas transfer between different currencies with bank deposit. XRP is the perfect solution fir this case. I remember 2 years ago there was some connection between Ripple, paypal, xoom....etc. Anyone has any info that could shed some light on any potential connection. [link] [comments] |
