    Vega 56 Flashing

    Posted: 24 Sep 2018 08:02 AM PDT

    Greetings GPU mining!

I wanted to practice my flashing skills with a Vega 56, so I bought an MSI vega 56 Air Boost with Samsung memory. I bought it used and came pre flashed with a 64 bios. For education purposes, I am trying to locate the stock 56 bios it came with. I found the MSI Vega 56 air boost bios on techpowerup, but I have tried flashing it back with atiflash via the GUI and the command line. They both give me an SSID mismatch and write errors and they will not flash. Am I using the wrong bios on techpower up? Instead of going into the MSI section on techpowerup, should I just be using the AMD section?

This is the bios I am currently trying to flash to: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?architecture=AMD&manufacturer=MSI&model=RX+Vega+56&interface=&memType=&memSize=&since= (the bottom one that said air boost)

    Why wouldnt this one work?

    I've done the calculations and...

It's much better for me to switch from GPU mining to buying my stock of crypto straight from the markets. Here's how the numbers shake out.

0.134 Etherum & 778 Arionum mined last billing cycle for my power bill.

My power is shown to be $ 0.068 per kw/h, but after all of the administration charge, delivery charge, distribution charges, transmission charge, balancing pool allocation, and rate riders my actual cost for electricity is $0.266 per kw/h

After using my wattage meter to find out that I am using 409 KW / month which ends up being 50% of the electricity bill. I spent $ 108.90 to pay for electricity so I could have the fun of mining.

And calculating what that crypto is worth today to sell it and recoup? Its worth $ 43.26.

So I'll be turning off my mining rig and buying crypto instead for the time being... But I wonder what would it take for me to get back into mining crypto?

    1. The value of Eth to rise to $600, and Arionum to rise to 3.5 cents.
    2. The difficulty of Eth to decrease to 1275 Tera Hashes

Lets see, if I had bought the crypto instead I would have ended up with:

0.3386 ethereum and 1,958 Aro (2.5 times more)

    Ethermine vs Miningpoolhub for ETH?

    Posted: 23 Sep 2018 04:36 PM PDT

Can't decide between these two pools, Ethermine looks more complete overall, but Miningpoolhub has lower fees

Which one do you prefer? Has anyone done some performance tests?
