Posted: 24 Sep 2018 07:47 AM PDT As expected, Armbian officially supports the NanoPC-T4 board [1] and there are several stability and performance improvements. These are EthArmbian main changes:
Download linkArmbian_5.60_Nanopct4_Ubuntu_bionic_default_4.4.156.img.zip For install instructions please visit Github README [2] Sync metricsParity blockchain size is 32GB and the whole sync process takes about 3:30 hours. Geth blockchain size is 127GB and it takes 2 days 11 hours days to sync. State entries import goes to 218 Million. I think these are pretty good numbers taking into account that there are a lot of people with decent hardware trying to sync the whole blockchain with no success. Both clients sync the Ethereum blockchain quite fine. Geth is set as the default client for supporting Light clients but you can easily switch from one to another (see github Readme) [2]. DocsDocumentation on Github is updated with detailed information about the image features, how to get the node up and running and some frequently asked questions.[2] The image is not rock solid yet but pretty stable to sync the blockchain and run a full node with both clients. Give it a try. [link] [comments]
When is the Certified Ethereum Developer (CED) exam going to be released? Posted: 24 Sep 2018 10:08 AM PDT https://cryptoconsortium.org/certifications I'm very interested in this. I'm an advocate of certifications over big education. Hopefully the org is a good one. [link] [comments]

Problem creating my own ERC20 token (for fun) Posted: 24 Sep 2018 03:36 AM PDT Hi, I am creating my own ERC20 token as part of a riddle (someone will have to find a public key via some puzzles, and the amount of tokens in the wallet is the code for a lock). I am following this guide: https://medium.com/bitfwd/how-to-issue-your-own-token-on-ethereum-in-less-than-20-minutes-ac1f8f022793 I succesfully did it on a test net, but not on main net. I got as far as pressing 'deploy contract' on MEW, and signing everything with my ledger. But the transaction hash doesn't exist (even after a few hours). Any idea what I could have done wrong in that final step? [link] [comments]
A new scalability tool for Ethereum! Posted: 24 Sep 2018 01:31 PM PDT Our team at Cartesi is developing a scalability solution for the Ethereum ecosystem that will change the way several dApps are written. What? Cartesi a layer-2 infrastructure that allows people to reach consensus over off-chain computations that happen inside a realistic (RISC-V) architecture (running Linux). Why? This technology will allow developers to build the complex logic of their dApps in Linux, using their favorite languages, libraries and resources (file-systems, processes, sockets...). And all this happens at the second layer, with negligible fees on the main chain, but with strong dispute resolution guarantees. How? We have developed an isolated RISC-V architecture that can be emulated in a reproducible way (bit-by-bit). Then we can use an interactive verification (sometimes called "verification game") to settle disputes that may arise over the results of such computations (with really very small cost). This interactive procedure is similar to Truebit, but our architecture and the way we organize our incentives is quite different. When? The progress has been steady up to now. We have already written the emulator and ported Linux to our enclosed architecture. Most smart contracts that implement the verification game have been written and tested and we expect some type of MVP by the end of the year! If you want to find out more about the project, here are some links. Or just drop me a line here of in a PM. Telegram Community: t.me/CartesiProject Let us build an awesome future together!
