Cobra wants to update the whitepaper again. Here's my suggestion to help him get started.

    Posted: 18 Sep 2018 01:56 PM PDT

Since Cobra again wants to update the Bitcoin whitepaper, I've gone ahead and helped him get started with the abstract:

Bitcoin Core: A Hub-to-Hub Electronic Settlement System

    Satoshi Nakamoto Bitcoin's Creator

    The Bitcoin Core Developers

Abstract. A purely hub-to-hub version of electronic cash would allow financial institutions to remain relevant in the age of peer-to-peer cash. Crippling existing p2p cash systems provide part of the solution, but the main benefits are lost if users can simply migrate to other p2p cash systems. We propose a solution to the p2p cash problem using a hub-to-hub network. The network routes payments through hubs, which will allow financial institutions to continue their role as rent-seeking middlemen. As long as a majority of hubs obey aml/kyc laws, governments will to continue to be able to control their citizen's financial activity. Messages are broadcast on a best effort basis, but nodes that leave the network must pay for watchtowers to monitor the network on their behalf - this provides additional opportunities for rent-seeking from financial institutions.

I just noticed that Google has made it possible to write: =GoogleFinance("CURRENCY:BCHUSD") in a Google Sheets cell for that cell to show the BCH exchange rate in USD. The cell will update automatically once every 120 seconds. Replacing "USD" with any other currency also seems possible e.g "BCHSEK".

    Posted: 18 Sep 2018 04:49 AM PDT

It's also possible to search for "1 BCH to USD" in google.com now. The disclaimer says that the exchange rate data is delayed by 3 minutes but that's ok for casual users. Google also added ETH and LTC. Those are the newly added currencies I've noticed so far.

Are there now a large amount of LN nodes that are stuck on a Bitcoin Core version with a critical bug because they have open channel states?

    Posted: 19 Sep 2018 01:17 AM PDT

Government learned long ago that disinformation scales much better than violence. If a slave believes he is free, then his mind becomes his captor. BTC will be the first of many failed disinformation attempts. Peer-to-peer cash will win through the laws of economics. Victory is inevitable.

Im glad Adoption Posts are popping up again instead of the mostly manufactured split narrative.

    Posted: 18 Sep 2018 01:33 PM PDT

We are making P2P Cash. Obviously, we will be attacked each year in order to try to split us (each year). They are desperate.

But P2P Cash is unstoppable. Sucks to be them.

As long as we keep preaching adoption, we will WIN!

Announcing The Open Savings Initiative On Bitcoin Cash + Bitcoin Core

    Posted: 18 Sep 2018 11:54 AM PDT

    TL:DR;

We just launched this open source initiative to offer anyone in the world a secure, time locked and trustless savings account. We coded up this application in the hope that ALL the wallets in the Bitcoin Cash / Bitcoin Core ecosystems adopt this feature, either by leveraging our code or implementing it themselves. See the website here and join our community: https://opensavings.network/

This application is LIVE today. Please test it out, report any bugs on Github and help us spread the word.
