    Posted: 06 Aug 2018 07:13 AM PDT

im going to feel dumb here but here goes, breakout board for server power supplies, the ones with the LCD display in the middle of them: is that number diplayed what it is currently able or currently delivering in volts to each plugged in component of the 12x6pins? for example i have one running now with 8 1060s on it and its reading 11.8 - so i guess thats spitting out 11.8v to each one of those pcie's right? or am i totally wrong here?

    Prebuilt Chinese GPU Miner

    Posted: 06 Aug 2018 12:52 AM PDT

    Hello All,

I was wondering what your thoughts on prebuilts from china are?

Specifically looking at the guy below. I feel like I could build something similar for much cheaper but not sure if I am missing something.

    My Mining Setup with numbers

    My Mining Setup with numbers

Just wanted to share my setup and numbers if you are thinking of getting into mining.

    Setup: 20 GPU's (12 AMD 580's and 8 Nvidia 1070ti's)

    Total Cost: ~10,000

    Mining: Ethereum

Mined per day : $14.33 USD

Electricity cost per day : $5.88 USD (.10 cents KWH) - this is after bios modding and voltage optimization

Total profit per day: $8.45/ $253 per month.

Time to break even if you got in today: 3 years 4 months

    Conclusion

I wish I had gotten into mining earlier then January of this year. In my opinion at the current rate unless you get really cheap electricity/great deal on cards it's not worth the cost and effort.

If you build a 6 GPU miner on ETH today (2kish) you will be making less than 3 dollars a day. Not to mention the uncertainty of what will happen when the flood of new ASIC's enter the market.

Over the last 6 months I have lost over half a ETH a month in mining output as network difficulty increases.

If you are mining today it is wiser to sell your take every month instead of trying to speculate as I have lost a hefty amount doing this. The future of crypto is entirely uncertain, Ethereum could be worth 10 dollars by the end of the year and if you held you would of been paying a high electricity bill to mine a worthless coin.

    Good luck!
