Just received 8,9 ETH from an address that has them till GENESIS 1100 days back! What?!?!

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 05:09 PM PDT

    Hello everyone,

Well, something really strange has happened:
Do you see this account: https://etherscan.io/address/0xe13b3d2bbfdcbc8772a23315724c1425167c5688

Through 3 "OUT" transfers (after the first "OUT" transfer, follow the 8,9 ETH) he sent 8.919872 ETH at the account I have control: https://etherscan.io/address/0x6ca169c3d5dd5c878a8fac38970693f060ed9ebf

I have literally no idea what happened, who is behind that account that has the ETH till Genesis? Am I just super lucky to receive these ETH?

In times like these mining centralization will become a big issue

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 06:06 AM PDT

With prices dumping, Ethereum mining will become extremely centralized and if the prices fell another 50% you'd almost certainly only have ASIC miners (that are mining at a profit) left to mine. The dire situation with ASICs though is that the E3 is not the "real" ASIC out there. It's the Gen2 & 3 that's running in manufacturers data centers, and there's thousands of it. So either fork to something like ProgPOW, where ASICs can't be more than 1.2x efficient than GPUs by design or risk Ethereum becoming Bitmainereum or Innosilereum. There was a highly ignored EIP 1057/1058 with a lot of positive feedback from the community but devs almost never talked about it in public or not that I've seen. I don't know why.

Outgoing token tx in my Ether address without my cooperation.

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 08:56 PM PDT

How is it possible that some spam token made an outgoing token tx from my address? The strange thing is that there wasn't even a corresponding incoming tx preceding it.

The token is called '✌🏼(◕‿-)✌ tinyurl.com/nicetokens' and was sent to the KyberTokenContract (probably the DEX from Kyber Network).

    https://etherscan.io/token/0x73478d0db2473f19e97c28d4e9fc80e75588c067

Looking at the tx from my address it stated that there were several similar txs made in this 1 tx. The originator of the tx isn't my address.

Was this token generated/'mined' on my address and coded to be sent to another address? Can someone explain how you can make a tx from someone else's address?

    Thank you!

CEO of Satoshi Portal Debates with Vitalik Burtin on Whether Bitcoin Core Is a Political Tribe-Coinness

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 07:58 PM PDT

While the Ethereum founder Vitalik Burtin referred Bitcoin Core as a political tribe and Bitcoin a currency, Francis Pouliot, CEO of Satoshi Portal, argued that Bitcoin, instead of Bitcoin Core, is a political tribe.

"Bitcoin Core is just a tool, a software that is compliant with the current consensus rules. Any other tribe is currently an altcoin. Also, note that libbitcoin and knots are both still Bitcoin and not Core," said Francis Pouliot.
