    Why I’m Bullish on BCH

    Posted: 05 Aug 2018 12:42 AM PDT

I remember reading the other sub back in 2013 and the air was on fire with possibility. The mission was to make money free and help everyone in the world make cheap, uncensorable transactions.

Now when I log in to r/btc I feel the same enthusiasm. Getting merchants to sign up, encouraging corporations to adopt, feeding the hungry. This is more than about holders making money: there is a moral mission behind it. I assume most people want to make money with their holdings, but its far more than just that.

Also people from this sub are those that I want to share a beer, hang out, and debate bitcoin and all sorts of topics. It's an intellectually curious and friendly crowd. These are the people I would spend my time with in real life.

So even though we're at the near bottoms in price in this bear market, I'm very excited about this bitcoin community and seeing where we can all take it together. Thanks to everyone's contribution and hard work, I for one appreciate it.

There is a whole world out there that has never seen Bitcoin work, all you gotta do is show them how to use Bitcoin as cash and you don't have to burden then with any knowledge about Bitcoin Core. If they are curious they are more than capable of experimenting and getting to know the difference.

What is the core cult compared to the rest of the world? Absolutely nothing. We worry about them way to much. They might be a big presence in crypto but crypto itself is a miniscule presence in commerce! How big are we trying to dream? To convince all of the crypto insiders that Bitcoin Cash is the way forward or to convince all of the outsiders that Bitcoin Cash has benefits over using fiat.

The people that are attracted to Bitcoin for the speculation and getting rich quick without doing anything don't offer the community much value anyways.

It's not about the fight against Bitcoin Core. It's about getting this idea in peoples heads that it's 2018 and that fiat is a old fashioned way of going business on the internet and even AFK.

    Within crypto there is

    • Speculation

    • Participation

    • Talking about 1 & 2.

All we got to do is focus on Participation and not waste time on anything else!

Bitcoin Core (BTC) is building "Commercial Banking 2.0". Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is a Currency that will Bank the Unbanked, Disrupt Finance, and onboard the poorest in the world to a new financial system without 3rd parties.

Guess which one's most like Bitcoin?

I feel like this is the elephant in the room, and should be repeated more often. BTC can no longer perform the social functions Bitcoin was created to perform. This is a deal killer for anyone who's not a total dick. BTC will no longer disrupt finance, but in fact force nearly all users into a Layer 2 system that will be "sold to Commercial Banks" (as per Adam Back). That isn't the Bitcoin I signed up for, and that isn't the Bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto created.

    LN experimental environment for /r/btc.

I'm currently getting Core/LN up and running to do some "put my money with where my mouth is" experimentation.

I have a something in mind I plan to do a write-up for but also wanted to ask the /r/btc community if there is anything they've been wanting to explore/validate but don't have time to stand-up an instance of their own.

Feel free to leave ideas in the comments and I'll do my best to find out and provide answers (based in reality).

Anything similar to blockear.com for our beloved BCH?

    Posted: 04 Aug 2018 05:53 PM PDT

I'm looking for something similar to the site blockear.com.The site is super minimal and I would love to hear an audio notification every time there was a BCH block found instead. Any devs working on one or is there something already available?
