    Posted: 29 Jul 2018 09:06 PM PDT

Thread topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Discussion related to recent events
    • Technical analysis, trading ideas & strategies
    • General questions about altcoins

    Thread guidelines:

    • Be excellent to each other.
    • All regular rules for this subreddit apply, except for number 2. This, and only this, thread is exempt from the requirement that all discussion must relate to bitcoin trading.
    • This is for high quality discussion of altcoins. All shilling or obvious pumping/dumping behavior will result in an immediate one day ban. This is your only warning.
    • No discussion about specific ICOs. Established coins only.

If you're not sure what kind of discussion belongs in this thread, here are some example posts. News, TA, and sentiment analysis are great, too.

Logistics problem with how our network of exchanges work. Does it add up?

    Posted: 30 Jul 2018 07:55 AM PDT

So, as of now there are three major fiat gateways: GDAX (now CBP), bitstamp, and Kraken. Almost all other exchanges are USDT pairings or only have value declared in BTC (bitmex). So right now With the value and liquidity slipping on the fiat exchanges... I am not quite how everyone would be able to find liquidity if they wanted it. Usdt should be a payout if needed but that doesnt seem to be an option.

Question 2: how is bitmex solvent against people holding "usd" on their exchange? If everyone deposits at $10 and withdraws at $1. Where does bitmex find the 10x bitcoins?

Market update July 30th - Will the bulls continue?

    Posted: 30 Jul 2018 08:36 AM PDT

The past week or so has been good for Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies. BTC went for a straight bull run from $7,200 all the way to $8,500 on July 24th. The RSI level reached 77 indicating Bitcoin was extremely overbought on the daily chart. The last time we were at this RSI level was back in the bull run of December 2017. Unsurprisingly, Bitcoin experienced a correction down to $7,800 range on July 27th but quickly bounced back to $8,200. The correction is likely not over yet, as the RSI level is still relatively high and trading volume has declined.
