We improved our Ethereum trading DApp

    Posted: 26 Jun 2018 12:02 PM PDT

Hi. I'm one of the developers at Ethex. We recently made some improvements to our DApp. Our system uses many Ethereum features to trade useful tokens.

The Ethereum blockchain has been a joy to develop on top of. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Question about Casper. What is the significant difference between epoch and checkpoints?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2018 06:47 AM PDT

    let's say the chain's height is 51.

    h(50) = epoch, can be a checkpoint

    h(51) = can be a checkpoint

-> epoch exactly stands for every 50th block.

-> checkpoint means any block that between two epoch, which can be a target for previous checkpoint(source)

    am i understanding rightly?

How to Prevent Cartels with DPoS

    Posted: 26 Jun 2018 03:29 PM PDT

Please point out the flaws you see here - this may be a drastic oversimplification of things, but I don't see any glaring issues with it.

I have been going back and forth between DPoS and PoS and believe that we can achieve a much fairer network with the benefits of delegation by enabling users of PoS to delegate to members of the pool of potential stakers.

Effectively, random stakers will be selected each round and maybe you're delegating to one of them, maybe you're not - that's it. This allows people to partake in the staking process who don't meet the staking threshold while preventing cartel formation through random selection of stakers for each round.

If this flawed, please point out the problems. If not, can this be added to the PoS implementation?

Ethereum - Embark console method calls all returning as undefined

    Posted: 26 Jun 2018 02:21 PM PDT

I'm not totally sure if this is the right place for this but I've run into this problem with Embark where everything works fine except for direct method calls in the console. Every method call of any contract I've deployed only returns as undefined in the console.

I've reported the issue to both StackOverflow and to a thread within the projects Github repository.

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/51033531/ethereum-embark-console-method-calls-all-returning-as-undefined

    https://github.com/embark-framework/embark/issues/317

Again, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but I'd greatly appreciate any advice or help with this issue as I'm very eager to build my first DApp. Thanks!
