[Technical] If the World State only Stores Hashes of the Code, Where Is the Underlying Code Stored? Posted: 25 Jun 2018 04:33 PM PDT Apologies if this is a silly question, but I googled and searched both here and ethereum stack exchange. I am slowly absorbing the Yellow Paper in order to understand how Ethereum works under the hood. I understand that the world state is a collection of mappings between accounts and 4 things: The third element, So where is the contract EVM code actually stored? Not in the state, right? And not on the chain, right? Where then? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Ethereum Wallet is giving me 0 confirmations. What do I do? Posted: 25 Jun 2018 02:03 PM PDT I've just dusted off my old Ethereum Wallet, got it updated to 0.10.0 and I believe there was a GETH update too, but I can't seem to move funds. It never get to 1 confirmation, and eventually the transaction just disappears from the transactions list. I guess because it never got on the network ? My Ethereum wallet is up to date ... I've checked ethstats, and it keeps up with the blockchain pretty ok. Is there anything else I can do? EDIT: Currently I have two transactions pending that have 0 out of 12 confirmations. The oldest one is 20 minutes old now. EDIT: It works if I switch to the Light Client (beta). Is there any risk in using the Light Client? [link] [comments]

China and Blockchain Technology: An Introduction Posted: 25 Jun 2018 01:36 PM PDT China has received a good deal of negative international press / attention for its approach to blockchain technology. International news outlets have taken bans and regulations coming from China as an indication of the country's hesitation to embrace the technology. This is the first post in a small series exploring China + blockchain technology. In particular, this post looks at the country's history with blockchain (and cryptocurrencies in particular) to better understand why international opinion has been so negative. Future posts will seek to piece apart these misconceptions and demonstrate how committed the country has been to blockchain and distributed ledger technology. [link] [comments]
