My First Time Using ETH to purchase a digital game at Amazon.com Posted: 19 Jun 2018 09:01 AM PDT I was googling for various stuff related to ETH and came across this service: https://www.thebigcoin.io/, the website seems well made and has been running since last year. It looks like they accept BTC, ETH, LTC, DASH or XMR and then purchase your desired item online with fiat and a flat fee of $6. Since I did not know what to expect, I did a little research and found that they have some reviews here: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/thebigcoin.io and here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2152963. So I tried to place an order with ETH, the product was a digital Pokemon game from Amazon. The whole process was quite simple: I have pasted the URL at https://www.thebigcoin.io/ https://i.redd.it/wh6exj94dz411.png then their system caught the product: https://i.redd.it/f9y2tu05dz411.png then entered my email: https://i.redd.it/hctq37j6dz411.png and got to checkout page: https://i.redd.it/hd54eb4adz411.png sent the ETH and got to this page in a few minutes: https://i.redd.it/dzdwaqvadz411.png It took an hour or so to receive the product by email and the code worked like a charm. https://i.redd.it/8j3ifgnbdz411.png Overall, I'm happy with the service, hope you guys will enjoy it as well :) P.S. They also accept other items with delivery to your address, I only made a test with a digital item in order not to reveal my address. [link] [comments]
Are Airdrops abusing our network? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 03:43 PM PDT Can't we find some way to make airdrops use less of our precious network resources? Perhaps, make them more expensive so there is a slightly higher financial hurdle to keep the ridiculous number of scam/spamdrops from killing our network. Most Airdrops don't seem to be 'good citizens' and consume more resources than their value, denying network resources to other users (pushing up the gas cost and slowing down the net for the rest of us) or maybe if you can't beat em, join em, and have a pre-compile or some other optimisation to issue airdrops with less network overhead, so we free up more space for everyone else. The ultimate irony is that as of right now this minute, the biggest gas guzzler, with some 12% of gas consumed, is something called Energy Saving Network coin. [link] [comments]
SpaceSuit: A Chrome extension to use dapps with Ledger Nano S Posted: 19 Jun 2018 01:10 PM PDT Cross-posted from Ledgerwallet Subreddit I've just released the first beta version of SpaceSuit. It's a free, open source Chrome extension that will let you use Ethereum dapps (like CryptoKitties or Aethia) from your Ledger Nano S (and probably Ledger Blue, but I don't have one to try). It had been bugging me that I couldn't use dapps from my Ledger Nano S. I looked at adding Ledger support to MetaMask, but hit a roadblock, due to some surprising security choices by Chrome. It proved easier to develop a new Ledger-only Chrome extension - SpaceSuit. SpaceSuit is intended to be bug-for-bug compatible with MetaMask, so any site that works with MetaMask should work with SpaceSuit. If not, it's a bug in SpaceSuit, and it'd be great if you could let me know about it. SpaceSuit is available from the Chrome Store, or you can check out the source code on GitHub [link] [comments]

Is it possible to have a smart contract that only allows authorized users to interact with it? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 07:19 AM PDT I have been racking my brains for a solution to this issue, and have come up empty so far. Any thoughts or ideas? [link] [comments]

How does Ethereum 2.0 Affect Existing/Upcoming Dapps? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 01:15 PM PDT So much has happened lately regarding updates to Casper and sharding, and it seems like Ethereum is basically making a new chain in EWasm and depreciating the EVM. (Correct me if I'm wrong about this) How is this going to affect existing dapps like Maker's DAI and upcoming dapps like Augur? Will they have to rework all of their code? Seems like a lot of development time has been put into auditing the contracts on Ethereum. Will it be difficult to port to the new chain and has recent developments thrown a wrench into many Ethereum companies' plans? Would love to hear from people involved in dapp development. Ethereum Wallet Lost Tokens and Wallet Contract When App Crashed Posted: 19 Jun 2018 08:37 PM PDT Hello, I'm on a Mac with High Sierra (Mac OS 10.13.5). I just added a new wallet contract to my Etherbase (my first wallet contract), and it showed up fine in the wallet. I also had a number of tokens I was monitoring. The app crashed, and when it came back up, the wallet contract and tokens are nowhere to be seen. The tokens don't bother me so much--I can just re-add the contract again to monitor those. But I don't see an option to add a wallet that already exists. I don't want to create a new one. More importantly, this has happened before with the tokens disappearing. Is there something off with my install that's causing this behavior? My Etherbase Address: https://etherscan.io/address/0xBB56CDef384dF6c63c84365883B0961B1Cc6Acd6 It shows the Contract Wallet was created successfully, and all my tokens are where I expect them to be, so I'm not worried about any of my currency being missing or the wallet being somehow destroyed. I just want to get them into the Ethereum Wallet app and have them stay there. Thanks for your help. [link] [comments]

ensquare dapp browser - A modular approach Posted: 19 Jun 2018 06:07 AM PDT Big update for the ensquare dapp browser today, with support for wallet IPC channels. To sum it up as succinctly as possible, its a way for any dapp to act as a wallet host for other dapps. Think Mist but the wallet and browser separated out making it more modular supporting different wallets. ensquare is definitely not yet ready for mainstream adoption, but tech savvy users will appreciate its flexibility. Check out a demo video of the wallet IPC channel in action: Looking for feedback, suggestions or help with testing :) [link] [comments]
