The last time the total market cap grew beyond $450 billion was December 11th 2017, the very day that Ripple XRP started its 14x bull run that ended January 4th 2018. I keep reading about the CEO stating as much but I was having trouble finding a legitimate looking source as to where this quote originated from. | 'XRP needs to decouple from Bitcoin!' Posted: 03 May 2018 06:54 PM PDT The topic of wanting/starting to decouple from Bitcoin always pops up here and there. We can all agree that in order to overthrow BTC and take hold of that #1 spot in market cap, we need to decouple from Bitcoin and play our own game. Here's the problem I am seeing. Everytime Bitcoin goes down, there's always the same comments being posted around; "This is stupid. Why are we being dragged down with Bitcoin?". "This is why we need to decouple from BTC". However, when BTC increases and we don't; "Why aren't we going up with BTC?". "Why is our price staying the same even though everything else is increasing?" We can't have it both ways. Perhaps XRP's price not increasing with Bitcoin's increase could be the start of a decoupling, regardless of how minuscule it might seem. This could be a sign that we are starting to do our own thing, only ready to increase when WE ourselves are ready to increase. [link] [comments]  | ||
