This seems to validate my other post earlier today mentioning the US sentiment of opposing any type of regulation, seems the G20 group shares the same sentiment, Im still waiting for some more official G20 press release material but so far so good, heres the link

G20 Did not say they were going to have regulations by july fake articles are mentioning that.

    Posted: 20 Mar 2018 02:14 PM PDT

Theres fake/spun articles saying G20 is planning for regulations in july or for recommendations on regulations. This is false, here's the proof, press conference today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tq7AIg0irGQ

18:00 to 21:00 is the crypto section, watch for yourself, he states they have to come up with ideas by july, not to regulate but on what data they need, who will supervise the FSB FTF etc. then talks positively about remittance and seemed to be talking about ripple.

Heres a link to the G20 write up for the finance meetings these last 2 days, edit: its like the 8th paragraph they talk about crypto its the only part of it. https://www.g20.org/en/press/press-kit/press-releases/communique-first-g20-meeting-finance-ministers-and-central-bank

and no there is not another day of meeting as Coindesk stated... which is the site with the misleading article, coindesk also said Brazil would not be regulating crypto and that brazil would not follow the regulations outlined by the G20 on cryptocurrencies, Thats a lie there was no regulations outlined by G20 on crypto's.. and thats not even stated when you go to the link source for that statement, Brazil central bank president flat out just said cyrptocurrencies would not be regulated when ask about cryptos thats all.

Coindesk mentioned regulation more than G20 did... which seems they wanted to paint a narrative on that, when everything else has been saying there not doing regulations, now seeing other post trying to say july regulations etc. so wanted to make this post.

From all gather from G20 is they all agreed money laundering and terrorist funding was there multi-lateral concern and the groups who handle those things are taking care of it and reviewing current rules and keeping an eye on this space.

    Elon Musk, Brad G., Bezos......

    Posted: 20 Mar 2018 02:08 PM PDT

    Food for thought....

While watching the SXSW interview with Elon Musk I picked up on something he said that was Paramount to successful businesses and the people who run them. It was very similar to what Brad G said in recent interviews. Elon talks about how he had to choose between Space, Electric Vehicles, or Solar. He made the choice to go with Space first.....then 1.5 years later he started Tesla and now he also has Solar City. He also talks about how "Amazon" didn't start out as Amazon, it started as "Amazon Books". Bezos concentrated on doing something really well and then branched out. Sound familiar?

Brad talks about this in his recent interview. When I first got to Ripple they were trying to do too many things (like most others in the Crypto world). He talks about choosing between Payments (currency), Codius, and Cross Boarder payment settlements. He wanted to concentrate on doing one thing really well...... FIRST. Ripple is definitely solving problems for real clients. But trust and believe, just like Elon and Bezos, it won't stop there! This is just the beginning.

Think about that when you're trying to decide where to invest your hard earned money. ...

"In any case, a concrete decision is not expected in Buenos Aires. There is no consensus on how to approach the issue and the US is opposed to any type of regulation."

    Explaining Ripple to my banker

    Posted: 20 Mar 2018 09:20 AM PDT

Don't get your hopes up, this is not a story about a nod and a wink from my banker acknowledging they have insider info on Ripple relationships and wish they could invest...

I have a much less interesting story to tell.

I started using Kraken to purchase XRP via wire transfer. It ends up costing more after wire fees on both sides, but it's worth it to me in comparison to the week of Coinbase purgatory I was going through previously.

It's standard for them to ask for the purpose of the wire. I've been with them long enough that it was appropriate for her to inquire what I've been doing with the wires.

Me: Have you heard of Ripple?

      Her: <Eyebrows raised/squint expression>

Me: I'm purchasing a digital asset that is used to speed up international remittance from days to seconds...

Her face went from inquisitive to blank. I felt like she thought she should have a clue about what I was talking about, but didn't.

I dumbed it down to comparing it to Bitcoin for financial institutions. (It was the only way to move on) I explained there was a reputable company that embraces regulation behind it, and that it's still a bet, but a more purposeful one in my opinion.

Not very interesting, but that's kind of the point...

I've grown accustomed to enduring small talk and awkward silence, and then there's that feeling as the line grows behind you, of restless customers' gaze piercing through you to the teller. You can almost hear them screaming "Open another window!"

I was finally sent to the lobby, to wait some more while a manager reviewed, signed off, and submitted the transfer.

Still better than Coinbase purgatory, but it was here while considering how long it will take for this domestic wire transfer to become available for me to trade with, I realized that Ripple's success would resolve the inconvenience around this very ritual!

Not exactly breaking news, but I thought it would be more interesting to write, and maybe read, than refreshing the daily thread or XRP charts a few more times.
