Posted: 19 Mar 2018 04:52 PM PDT Wondering if there's any sort of batch payment tools around. Need to pay people weekly and also store transaction data for tax purposes. Ideally would also store peoples names and eth addresses for weekly payments. Or am I looking too far in the future :P [link] [comments]

Decided to build my own Crypto Apparel store, during these down months! BTC and ETH accepted! Posted: 19 Mar 2018 07:10 PM PDT Since there hasn't been much excitement going on in the crypto-world, I decided to dedicate my time to having fun building a Crytpo Apparel store with a little fashion. My brother and I made all the designs ourselves. Any feedback would be awesome! Feel free stop by and take a look! [link] [comments]

Move aside scaling problems, Ethcalate is here! Posted: 19 Mar 2018 05:22 PM PDT Hello /r/ethereum! As we all know, scaling your DApp sucks, and isn't as straightforward as scaling a normal web application. It still takes forever to process even basic Eth transactions and gas costs turn away most people from using any DApp that doesn't also let you make a lot of money (why pay with little value-add?). Scaling technologies like plasma, truebit, PoS and sharding are on the horizon, but are still quite a ways away from widespread use and implementation. Even MVPlasma (as implemented by OmiseGo and Truebit) or existing state-channel-based solutions are too technical for most people, and a huge pain to implement, currently. We're excited to announce that we're building Ethcalate: A containerized state channels management system for DApps. Think of it as docker for scaling DApps more easily. Here's a quick breakdown of how it works:
If a service like this interests you, check out the landing page, and be sure to share with your friends if you find it useful: Edit: Sorry for the (somewhat ironic) landing page outages, should be fixed now. [link] [comments]

EthernalGo is a real Go Game running 100% on ethereum! Posted: 19 Mar 2018 01:17 PM PDT I'm really excited to share with the community that you can now play the ancient game of Go on the hottest technology in the world. The winner can actually earn ETH by playing Go, which I think is amazing considering there is 0% randomness in this game. Check it out here (desktop only): https://www.ethernalgo.com I'm quite excited because it was a very complex smart contract to implement and we were able to produce using the wonderful Solidity and the help of this community. And of course, we've open-sourced everything to contribute back to the community. Would love to hear your thoughts and to actually see some people run some mainnet games! [link] [comments]
Anybody here working on a decentralized social network? Posted: 19 Mar 2018 06:32 AM PDT I'm working on a standard for decentralized profiles that Dapps will be able to use instead of hosting user information and I'm looking for devs to talk to that might be interested in it. Please comment if you'd be interested in this and tell us a lil more about the Dapps you're working on. [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Mar 2018 01:19 PM PDT Trying to understand if I'm using MEW correctly. 1) Keystore / UTC file -- i download this locally. If this file is out there in the open, it's still safe, because I require a password to enter, right? In other words, if I store this file on dropbox, I should be okay? 2) MEW allows me the option to upload my keystore file instead of using a private key. a) Is this safer than using the private key to unlock and b) if I unlock on MEW online, how do I know MEW is not reading my key or a third party is reading the key once it is unlocked? As viewers and artists grow increasingly disillusioned with these platforms Posted: 19 Mar 2018 03:07 AM PDT Arguably more so than any other industry, entertainment has a gatekeeper problem. Until recently, it was impossible to put out music without getting a record deal and relying on a label to record, distribute, and monetize your music as an artist. The same was true in film and television: You could not distribute a movie or TV show without studios and production companies throwing their weight behind you, and movie theaters or cable channels agreeing to showcase your creation. While the internet has now democratized content creation and distribution in entertainment and creatives no longer have to get in bed with the likes of Interscope or Disney, a new crop of middlemen have emerged in digital content. Today, users rely on platforms to consume music and video content. Platforms like YouTube (1.5 billion users), SoundCloud (175 million), Spotify (140 million) and Netflix (~110 million) control user consumption across the globe and act as the new distributors, responsible for both collecting subscription and ad revenues and divvying up payments to artists. By offering a digital public database that stores an ongoing record of transactions, the blockchain has given companies the ability to have completely encrypted records of ownership, as well as execute smart contracts (i.e. automatically enforce the exchange of anything of value without the need for a middleman). There are currently several attempts to create blockchain-based companies and currencies of relevance to media and entertainment. When applied to media consumption this technology solves the problems surrounding content access, distribution and compensation; managing assets and digital rights; and financing, among others. ON.LIVE THE PART OF INNOVATION OnLive Network is a live video streaming protocol supported by Blockchain technology. Thanks to blockchain it assures full decentralization, high scalability and open market for uncensored live media broadcasts all over the world.OnLive solves bunch of problems from the offline world where one needs direct face-to-face contact with a professional to get essential advice. This is often problematic and costly. Access to this type of service should be fast, easy and the unlimited and always of the highest quality, and it is possible thanks to OnLive Network.Anyone with access to the internet may be a user of the platform: individuals (e.g. doctors, lawyers, teachers, consultants), companies (e.g. law firms, medical and educational centres, insurance companies), large enterprises (e.g. TV stations, advertising networks, event companies). It is an excellent way for users to quickly – and without leaving home – use the help of numerous professionals or take part in live events taking place all over the world. Viewers will find a lot of interesting content. It is a complementary system, where users are charged only for the actually delivered services.. [link] [comments]
