How does PoS prevent a 51% attack? Posted: 17 Mar 2018 09:54 AM PDT I've always wondered this. With PoW, there's an obvious, monetary incentive to build fadter machines. This constantly increases the hash rate so a 51% attack will likely never happen. With PoS however, if the monetary incentive is to just burn more coins than the next guy, I see how this fights inflation, but what does it do it increase the hashrate preventing a 51% attack? Best way to send ETH to dozens or hundreds of addresses simultaneously? Posted: 17 Mar 2018 01:09 PM PDT What is the best way to send a specific amount of ETH (or an ERC20 token) to multiple addresses? For example, "send 0.1 ETH to 200 0x... addresses"? Can this be done by any wallet (I suspect not). Is there a simple way to achieve this? Thanks. [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 Mar 2018 05:01 PM PDT Hey! So I am looking at hardening the security of my Mac system where I can, while retaining as much flexibility as possible; through Brew best practices. I'm mostly new at Brew and I'm sure many here aren't, which is great so you can help me! I've noticed parity has a "tap" under their control (https://github.com/paritytech/homebrew-paritytech), so if I use them there are three entities I need to mostly trust: Apple, Brew and Parity. Geth has a package directly on Brew (http://formulae.brew.sh/formula/geth) maintained by someone I don't trust (since I don't know him/her/them) so installing this package would mean trusting Apple, Brew and... someone. This situation is sort of ok for packages that many people are using and therefore many people have eyes on the source code, but I don't think that is the case for geth yet. Any way Ethereum could have a Brew tap as well? [link] [comments]
