    Monumentally stupid mistake

    Posted: 14 Mar 2018 07:48 AM PDT

I was tired as fuck from work and decided to transfer 1.44 BCH that I just purchased to my wallet and mistyped the address..

Everything I know about bitcoin says the coin is lost. But, when I punch in the incorrectly typed address to view it on the blockchain, it does not exist. I know I fucked up, but how can the payment have been processed if ti doesn't appear on the blockchain.

I mistyped the address by skipping letter but the coin exchange didn't recognise that it was incorrect and processed it. When I look up the address on blockchain, it doesn't exist.

Can it possibly 'bounce back' into the wallet since the transaction technically doesn't exist, and the address doesn't exist', OR have I just pissed 2K into the ether?

And if I have, how is this possible if the address isn't valid?

Here are the steps I took:

    1. Created new receive address (BCH address in BTC format) in Trezor app.
    2. Logged onto exchange.
    3. Typed in the address.
    4. Read checked the first few letters, checked the last few letters, checked letters sequentially, then clicked send.
    5. Logged onto my email address and confirmed transaction.
    6. Waited 20 minutes. Nothing.
    7. Copies and pasted the address which had typed into the coin exchange and pasted it into the search bar on blockchair.
    8. Blockchair result says the search is invalid.
    9. Check the address in my Trezor app again. Realized I mistyped the address by one letter (I missed the 7th character 'J')
    10. Oh shit moment.

Would really appreciate a response. Cheers. and FUCK!

Many say bitcoin cash is a scam. Most notably those who solely support Bitcoin core and those who believe what core says without DYOR. But they could not be more wrong. Case in point the above article. Is there any other crypto that has this game changing tech? BCH has much more advance tech coming. Come join us. Its still early.

Hi -- I'm the creator of pwall.org, a lightweight, client-side, open-source universal paper wallet generator.

I've created pwall.org with the intention to shift the emphasis toward simplicity and auditability in regard to cryptocurrency paper wallet generation.

You can safely use https://bitcoincash.pwall.org to generate your Bitcoin Cash paper wallet for cold storage.

You can also use subdomains for other currencies such as:

Your feedback is greatly appreciated! Here's the GitHub repository for more info. Happy hodling.

Where can I share my Bitcoin Cash General Store project and other questions

    Posted: 13 Mar 2018 02:51 PM PDT

I have been working on https://villagecatalog.com/ for two months now - an internet general store that only accepts BCH.

Have had a steady stream of orders and now that I am able to handle them, I wanted to start marketing the site more so that those who are interested can become aware of it.

    Questions

    • Are there any other directories I can submit the site to?
    • What does it take to get into a reddit sidebar? (I'd like to have added a few hundred more products before then)
    • What type of products are you interested in buying?
