Posted: 20 Feb 2018 07:29 AM PST Im on win 10 with nvidia cards and I'm trying to mine zclassic directly with EWBF. I am using the miningpoolhub as described here. https://zclassic.miningpoolhub.com/ I let it run overnight and in the morning I saw these errors. Any idea why? I can mine for multiple days without crashing on nicehash. Thanks [link] [comments]

Moved away from smOS to HiveOS, it was like using Ms. Word after using Notepad for a while! Posted: 19 Feb 2018 10:52 PM PST Aside from some overclocking issues moving from smOS to Hive where the same cards with the same values started acting up, i had zero issues transitioning from simplemining to hiveos. That OC profiler is immense help, no more using excel sheets keeping track of your OC parameters. The most useful function which i was going to do a custom development job when i was on smos but found hive just in the right time is the "Hashrate Watchdog", you can set a figure for any particular miner/rig and it reloads or reboots the rig if the total rate falls short of that. And the graphs and visual data provided is incredible down to GPU level, i thought i was kept in the dark using smOS and it's developer better get serious or he's going to lose customers like me. I am in no way associated with both and my songs of praise so far (i accept surprises with this new OS can occur) are primarily out of excitement. [link] [comments]
Queen Bee for HiveOS (gauging public interest) Posted: 20 Feb 2018 03:37 AM PST Hi all - I've come to love HiveOS but many of us miss the feature of auto-switching. Using its API, I've created an app that switches my miners using data from whattomine or periodically just to mine various coins on a switch timer to create a coin portfolio.
Would you be interested in this service where for every 60 minutes of mining you'd owe/pay 1 minute of mining for the service? [link] [comments]

[Troubleshooting] Nvidia 1070FE randomly stops responding Posted: 20 Feb 2018 07:27 AM PST Hey everyone, having a weird issue with one of my miners which has 2 Stock 1070FE and they randomly stop responding to the miner, making it stop. Here are the specs and what I've tried. Picture of miner: https://imgur.com/n8ithzT
What troubleshooting I've tried so far:
There has been times when the miner will go for hours and then crash and other times when it stops within minutes. Since video cards aren't the problem, because the issue happens with different cards, it would mean the mobo/cpu/OS/drivers. However, the inconsistency of when it happens is throwing me off. Why would it work for hours sometime? Anything I'm missing here? I may have forgotten to post more info, but let me know if I need to provide more info. Next steps I guess will be to reinstall the OS. Thanks for any help guys! [link] [comments]

Replace 6 pin PCIe to Sata with Molex cable Question Posted: 19 Feb 2018 08:56 PM PST Sorry, I know this has probably been asked a million times but I want to be sure. Is it recommended to replace 6 pin PCIe to Sata power cables that came with these risers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074V46SJD/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with these 6 pin PCIe to 4 pin molex power cables: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DFZ7HDK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I would power 2 risers per molex cable from the PSU. These are running GTX 1080's. Thanks for the help! [link] [comments]
Another "My first rig is up and running!" post. 3x1060, 3x1080Ti Posted: 20 Feb 2018 05:37 AM PST Started with a 1060 in the desktop. Then another 1060 in the desktop. Then started finding what parts and pieces I could at MSRP/non-rape prices. Ended up with this here; Not as nice as the Veddha etc. racks, but, hey, it's only $20. Mix-and match of cards. I have the system, a 1080Ti, and two 1060s on one PSU, and two 1080Ti and one 1060 on the other PSU. Biostar TB-250BTC motherboard Pentium G4400 CPU Patriot Viper Elite 4GB DDR4 2400 MHz EDIMAX EW-7811Un USB WiFi adapter Intel 40 GB SSD (see note below) 2x EVGA 850 G3 PSU Ubit risers from Amazon I need more HDD (SSD) space to increase virtual memory. I was just trying to use what I had on hand. Amazon has some really cheap SSDs, I'll probably pick up a 120 GB. IIRC, I have the cards set to 90% power for now. 1060s are +150 core +650 mem and the 1080Ti are +100 core +600 mem. Only using Nicehash for now while I research better means of more profit. It's running at 2.74 kH/s. I like having that Kill-a-Watt right up where it is so I can see the results of changes w/o having to shine a flashlight under the desk! Heavy duty extension cord plugged into the back of it, and then I have a power strip mounted to the rear lower of the rig plugged into the front of the Kill-a-Watt. Both PSUs of course plugged into the power strip. EDIT: Weird, my pic didn't attach. Can I attach one after the post? [link] [comments]
Powering two separate risers via 6 pin PCIE. Using an 8 pin PCIE to a dual 8 pin (6+2) PCIE? Posted: 19 Feb 2018 09:54 PM PST I am currently powering each of my Zotac 1080 Ti Amp Extremes with a Corsair (Type 4) 8 pin PCIE at the PSU to dual 8 pin PCIE (6+2) at the GPU. Instead of powering my risers with molex or sata would it be okay to use the same kind of cables to power two separate risers using the 6 pin PCIE? I would be plugging an 8 pin PCIE into the PSU then plugging one end of each 8 pin (6+2) PCIE cables into a 6 pin on the riser. Obviously, I wouldn't be using the +2 pin on either riser. Is this safe to do to power two separate risers? I assume the each 6 pin from the PCIE would be rated for 75w since the 8 pin PCIE is 150w before it splits to the dual 8 PCIE (6+2)? Here is a picture of a cable similar to what I am talking about: https://www.amazon.com/PCI-Express-Video-Y-Splitter-Adapter-Supply/dp/B00A3OVG4W [link] [comments]

Posted: 20 Feb 2018 02:53 AM PST So I have about 4-5 laptops sitting around that are no good anymore (most of them have broken screens.) we really don't need them at all anymore, so I was wondering if there's anyway to create a mining rig with them that would actually be worthwhile? I know just using one laptop to mine is worthless, but is there a way to open them up and create a decent rig? (I suck at comprehending a lot of this, so if this is beyond ridiculous to even ask, I apologize. I want to get involved in crypto-mining, but am finding it hard to find proper directions to get started. Also sorry if this is the wrong subreddit) [link] [comments]
[HELP] 8th GPU keeps randomly disappearing and reappearing from device manager. Posted: 20 Feb 2018 02:23 AM PST As the title states, my 8th GPU which happens to be a ASUS ROG Strix 1080 Ti, randomly keeps appearing and disappearing from the system. It seems to have a mind of its own. So far I have tired switching in it different PCIe slots, BIOS detects it, but windows does not. After sometime, if I scan for hardware changes it randomly reappears in device manager, then sporadically disappears. So far In my efforts to fix this issue I have :
Here is an image of Device Manager, where it shows up in hidden devices : https://imgur.com/a/quvHs System details:
Seeking help from anyone who has faced this issue earlier or anyone with the knowledge of how to solve this issue. Thank in advance. :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Feb 2018 02:10 AM PST I've been trying to get my rig up and running for the past month to no avail. I Can get 2 GPU's running but once the third one goes in everything goes funky. I am using two power supplys with a spliter cable connecting the two at the moment. one is 750 watt and the other is 650 watt. When i add the third card on the second power supply i just get a black screen no matter what i do even though everything has turned on and is runnig (including the motherboard). at one point it did manage to boot into the bios however it couldnt detect my ssd. So at this point i am lost. Specs: MSI 270 PRO A 4x R9 270X 1 R9 380 Pentium G4440 4GB DDR4 PNY 32 GB SSD as mentioned before two GPU's on one power supply i can get running stable relativly easy. but when ever i plug in the second PSU and third GPU eventually i have to clear CMOS to be able to boot with 2 GPU's.
