Which are your favorite sites for comparing bitcoin's position & statistics relative to other crypto coins?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2018 01:11 AM PST

I've been investing part of my salary in bitcoin since April 2017. However some family members have sadly failed to understand how only bitcoin keeps its value through the long-term.

Unfortunately both my brothers and uncle made some really misguided investment decisions, and lost money by investing in alternative cryptocurrencies (notably with bit-conect).

I'd like to show them how bitcoin performs relative to all cryptocurrencies. My main goal is to provide them with trusted price comparison tools for analyzing bitcoin's stats versus other cryptos. Thus they can learn how these markets work & make their own informed analysis and conclusions. However, I'd like to make sure i'm recommending tools that do not put forward schemes like bit-conect.

So which are your favorite sites to compare crypto prices relative to bitcoin position and long-term dominance?

All tips for helping them out would very appreciated!

Bitcoin is finally set to do it's job. CHANGING THE WORLD.

    Posted: 19 Feb 2018 03:01 PM PST

All the dreams we had for bitcoin is coming true. LN is extremely promising. 2nd layer upgrade is a genius method and makes bitcoin that much more robust. And the hope we had of changing the world through micro payments is right around the corner. Banking the unbanked is already here we just need more internet network in under developed areas. I used to hate the world and thought we were screwed. But with bitcoin there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that light gets brighter and brighter every day. 1 bitcoin is worth more than a million USD. Don't let anyone tell you different.

EDIT: lol at the sprinkle of anger and hate. Getting rich is not the goal of bitcoin. If that's your goal, bitcoin will take your money. Study the tech and understand it.

Remember, when you deposit 'money' in a bank. You don’t actually own anything in a bank —your assets are the unsecured liability of an institution that could very well go bankrupt.

I think it's safe to say that the journey of bitcoin over the past year has been crazy. It's all worked out for everyone buying the dip and not freaking out. It's actually hilarious to watch the constant fluctuations and reactions of everyone when the dips hit. RIP to everyone who bought around 18k and sold when it dropped to 6k, 1 upvote= 1 prayer

    Free engagement ring, thanks bitcoin!

    Posted: 19 Feb 2018 05:50 PM PST

I have been dating my girlfriend for about a decade since we first started college. A lot of our good friends are already married and having kids but we have been going at our own rate np. This past summer I told my gf that I would put down one of my bitcoin to buy her engagement ring just lmk when she wants me to sell. Well this January we went shopping found something she loves and I sold 1 since the price was dropping.

It took about 3 weeks for the ring to be special ordered and during that time bitcoin dropped significantly, I went ahead and bought back in at $6k which was about half the price I had originally sold at so I was able to pick up an extra bitcoin. Now with this rebound I can sell the extra coin and the ring largely paid for itself.

    Not bad!
