Review of the Q4 XRP Report

    https://xrphodor.wordpress.com/2018/01/27/review-of-the-q4-xrp-report/

Being a change agent for banking is unforgiving work. Luckily for us, Ripple is more than up to the task.

In my review of the Quarter 4, 2017 XRP Markets Report, I review the effect of recent negative publicity, as well as remind XRP investors about some key comsiderations that they should remember when seeing resistance to the change that Ripple - and XRP - represents.

And of course, we will look at Miguel's quarterly XRP report to see some surprising numbers for Ripple. Spoiler alert: Ripple made as much money in one quarter than they did for an entire year. I'm not giving it all away, however, so you'll have to read my blog to find out more.

I hope you enjoy the read!

    Thanks, -Hodor

    Mind blowing

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 07:23 AM PST

It is mind blowing to me how crypto investors and others alike don't invest in XRP even with all the good news. Yesterday I bought another batch of XRP after hearing the credit agricole news. If any other cryptocurrency had news of trials/partnerships with credit agricole, 2nd largest bank of europe it would have doubled their market cap. But not with XRP and I don't mind. I can buy more now cause this is going to end up like what happend in december. Major announcements with no movement, and all of a sudden a massive growth explosion. In december we had the escrow lock up, mastercard, santander and others all announced within 2-3 weeks. Then the SBI holdings news constantly trickled in during a week or 2 and everything went of an insane bull run. the same patterns are showing again.

    Answered: Will banks use XRP

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 11:12 PM PST

This is the primary criticism of the many XRP naysayers and main point of the Bloomberg article.

And lets face it, banks aren't going to have anything to do with Cryptos unless there are clear regulatory guidelines from central banks. Bank's don't want to come out looking irresponsible.

And Ripple obviously know this. Which is why they are focusing on Payment Providers for now like Moneygram, western union, Mercury FX etc. If you can catch the low hanging fruits and show cost savings.

It becomes easier for banks to see value and evaluate risks and push for positive regulation.

And every central bank is looking at regulating Cryptos. So sooner or later there will be regulations. And when that happen's XRP will be available for use. Ready and tested.

To declare banks 'Don't want the currency' at this point of time and therefore XRP is worthless is irresponsible journalism and clumsy analysis.

What Ripple has is potential that few or none of the other coins currently exhibit. So I'd still say it is better to get in early while it is still cheap!

    15k Missing XRP

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 10:38 AM PST

I posted this before in reddit/xrp. I have been waiting two weeks two days for BitStamp support with no answers. Any other suggestions would be so much appreciated.

Wow. Really, really fucked up a withdrawal big time. Moving 15k xrp from Binance to Bitstamp and accidentally used the Bitstamp wallet address for BTC/USD. Bitstamp has two nearly identical options on top of each other that BOTH say withdrawal XRP within the same menu. So instead of the XRP wallet within my Bitstamp address I used the BTC/USD. The destination tag is the same though. Binance basically telling me to stuff it. I am wondering what my odds of recovering these XRP are? Does anyone know anything that can be done? Awaiting support response from Bitstamp. Any pointers would be GREATLY appreciated.

I really do need the help - I literally have a newborn with hospital bills to cover. No Joke. Thanks anyone for reading this.

Binance doesn't respond. I am hoping BitStamp is just severely backlogged. Over two weeks since my colossal screw up.

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 09:44 AM PST

Has anyone else read Robinhood's blog post about crypto?? It seems like they will be offering the opportunity to trade crypto fee-free soon! And on the short list of "soon to be supported" cryptos is XRP! Will this create an influx of new money to the space and lower the barrier to entry?? What do you guys think?

A thought on money transfer companies like Western Union and Money Gram.

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 08:23 AM PST

I was thinking about how hard it is currently to by XRP (at least in the US). It takes forever for new users to get approved. Money transfers take days and sometime get lost indefinently or you have to go onsite to an exchange like Coinbase and buy a different coin then transfer it to a site that has XRP and exchange it there. Plus pay the exchange fees and credit card fees. So this got me thinking about money transfer companies like Western Union and Money Gram. They are already in the business of exchanging fiat currency and we know that some companies are already looking at Ripples block chain technology for faster and cheaper exchanges. Would it not be logical for them to think about expanding their business even more into crypto currency? Say you don't have a bank account or credit card like many people in developing countries around the world or you dont want to wait 3-5 days for a bank transfer. You could go to say Western Union and ask them to send fiat currency to your wallet in what ever crypto currency you want to exchange it to (XRP, Bitcoin, ETH....). I know their are coins out there trying to bridge the gap of people around the world that don't have bank accounts, but Western Union is already there and they are already in the business of exchanging money. Most people also find them to be trustworthy so they feel less worry about loosing their money in the transfer. If they are not looking into this already I really think they should.

Rippex Desktop Software or Ripple Paper Wallet?

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 01:10 PM PST

So, I've been wanting to get my XRP out of the exchange. It is my understanding that the best thing is a Ledge Nano S, however, until they are in stock, I won't be buying one. I also am kind of paranoid about an USB stick keeping my crypto. So, in the absence of a Ledger Nano S, which storage option would be better?

Edit: So, I ended up moving my XRP to Ripple Desktop Wallet. Quick and no issues. Thanks for the suggestions, all.

Finally ready to pull the trigger with XRP. My question is: Can you buy it directly with USD?

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 11:03 AM PST

I'm sorry for the very beginner question, but it has not been super clear in the posts I have seen on reddit so far. I am aware that you can buy btc/eth with usd and then use that to purchase the xrp, but is there a trading platform that allows you to do it solely with usd? I would love some clarification, thanks!
