I wish more exchanges had LTC pairings for alts...

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 07:47 AM PST

I really don't want any BTC, like, ever at all. But since I like dealing in altcoins, I'm forced to have some BTC holdings and I don't like it. How do we get more LTC pairings on big exchanges?

I payed my first receipt with Litecoin

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 09:22 AM PST

Yesterday I was at a local burger place opened up recently. I ordered a burger and it was delicious btw. And when I went to pay my receipt, talked with the owner who also into cryptocurrency. When I asked about paying with litecoin he was more than glad.

While I was making the transaction, he posted a video of the process on Instagram.

Making a real world payment with Litecoin made my day. And I am really happy about how this technology came forward and seeing it in my hometown (Izmir, Turkey)

Thank you for a great community.

My idea of what the big news will be

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 05:22 AM PST

LTC pairings on at least 3 major exchanges to all the altcoins ..just like bitcoin.

People alrdy transfer ltc between exchanges due to speed and low fees. This would remove the last step of coverting back to btc to buy alts. Just a reasonable idea

We are now #7 and almost #8 on Coinmarketcap

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 09:36 AM PST

Why are coins that no one even heard of 3-6 months ago now bigger than Litecoin? I genuinly like Litecoin a lot but i don't know what is holding us back. Even without big announcements we should be able to climb up and at least compete with these new upcoming coins. Litecoin has been around for more than 6 years and these new coins are replacing our spot! No fud, just curiosity.

Alexa, what is the price of LiteCoin?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 10:37 AM PST

Alexa doesn't know what this means. However, Alexa knows the price of BitCoin, BitCoinCash, and Ethereum. Charlie make it happen!

People on here were saying they'd eat mayo if LTC hit $100

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 10:16 AM PST

We were rejoicing when it surpassed 100. Now it is at $245ish and people are becoming impatient and unsure of LTC's future?? Remember where we were just 1 month ago... If you plan on hodling, day to day should not bother you guys as much as it is. This community is fun to follow, but damn remember your roots!

    Practical Currency/Investment/???

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 08:39 AM PST

So I'm trying to think about crypto in the future, and am looking for some input and a discussion from those that may understand it better than I do. Obviously, some of us are looking at it to hold onto to, so it increases in value, and it can be sold for fiat. Some of us are looking at it as a future currency.

The catch 22 I see is the following:

All the cryptos are too volatile right now to be a legitimate currency. Something that may cost $100 at one point in the day, could cost $150 later in the day (unless prices are adjusted in realtime based on the LTC value, but why not just use fiat in that case and skip that whole ordeal?). Obviously with widespread adoption, these prices will stabilize, and it will be more likely to be used as an everyday currency. But then the flip side of that is when the investors aren't seeing gains, they will likely sell it for profits...which will decrease the value, others will buy it, it won't be stable, fueling the cycle again...

I hope this makes some sense, and that someone can offer some insight. It seems to me within the crypto market, the practical users and the investors and going to be eachother's own enemy, even if they are holding the same coins..but again, I'm sure others can provide better insight into this.

    Thoughts?

I've made enough to move to Toronto, from Australia and be comfortable for an entire year. Hodling is key! And I'll continue doing so, while investing all I can in LTC. Community is strong and makes all the difference, as a libertarian movement. Happy new years! Lite on..

    Paid for VPN with LTC

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 10:35 AM PST

I guess this is my first purchase with LTC and it was so fast and cheap to use. I did buy a vaporizer with BTC last year, cost me £140, nows money that's £750.

I love using crypto to buy things, should of opened a new account though as I did buy my VPN with a debit card last year. Oh well its still a decent payment system.

    THEORIES FOR KICKS

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 12:42 AM PST

I have decided to make TOP 10 theories for your amusement as to what the YUGE unexpected surprise may be. No hate please. This is for fun.

    1. Charlie got a tap from Elon Musk (regarding use of Litecoin on Mars and his company on Earth) and his requirement was for Charlie to prove to him he's not doing it for the money.

    2. China comes back with an unexpected bang and makes Litecoin its national currency. Or South Korea, Japan, etc.

    3. Amazon and Charlie connect for another reason out in the open so we don't know the real deal, while quietly unravelling their plans to join hands.

    4. Google figured why not contact our old buddy old pal and ask if he'd like Litecoin to be implemented into GooglePay and other services.

    5. Alibaba looked into blockchain technology after Jack Ma was questioned once on what he thought about Bitcoin, leading them to decide Litecoin was better suited for transactions and joined forces.

    6. The news is a surprise for us, but not so surprising for Charlie Lee. He reveals he is Satoshi Nakamoto and donates his Bitcoins to prove it. Everything he mentioned about the 1st quarter of 2018 was misdirection. (Highly unlikely but like I said, for kicks 🤣)

    7. Lightning Network or MAST implementation is completely finished and ready to go.

    8. Steam decides Litecoin is a winner after the disappointments with Bitcoin.

    9. Blizzard Games decide to make use of Litecoin on battle.net and wants his help in making a blockchain of their own for games and collector's items.

    10. Facebook. But who uses facebook for sending funds and why would we need to do that when we would have wallets?

That's all folks! Feel free to post your own theories as well lol

Litecoin – The Most Underrated Currency in the Crypto Bucket

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 11:35 AM PST

    I need someone to ELI5

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 07:45 AM PST

For those wondering, ELI5 means ''explain like I'm 5 years old''.

The only investing I've done is the standard stuff (retirement, savings, tax free, etc) but I want to get into litecoin. I have abso-freakin-lutely no idea on how to turn my $ into Litecoin though! Everything I've read seems to talk about ''tips and tricks'' and discussion about litecoin vs alternatives and so on but legit CANNOT find a ''tutorial'' on places to go where I'm like ''okay, I have x amount to put in, boom I now have that amount worth of litecoin''.

Can I please get some input? How do you guys actually GET litecoins?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 10:51 AM PST

I installed the Abra wallet app but it does not support Amex gift cards. Received several for the holidays and would like to purchase LTC with them if possible. So far, the only option seems to be paxful but at horrible pricing...

Restored the wallets are really buggy

    Posted: 03 Jan 2018 10:32 AM PST

I restored my original LTC wallet twice this week. The first time I restored it, it was buggy because it told me I had 9+ LTC in there and after not being able to spend it I deleted my wallet and restored again. This time I had .46 LTC in there (about half of what I had before I wiped my pc and restored the wallet) and loads of transactions from September are loading on the wallet UI as having been transacted on the 31st of December (a random date imo since I was restoring this on the 2nd). I was able to spend the .46 but it never even asked for my password and the transactions are all still really wacky. Anyone have any insight?

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: It's even saying that certain transaction were for .2 LTC and when I click on the transaction to get the details it then says 10.2 LTC... wtf is this mess?

Edit 2: Okay, I am realizing that both the 'redeemed at input' (what is that??) amount and the actual amount sent are both in my transaction section of the wallet, but they are linked to the same transaction.
