First Litecoin Meme Contest - Win LTC Merchandise

    Posted: 12 Jan 2018 01:50 PM PST

    Hey r/litecoin,

Chris back from AlwaysHODL. We work directly with the Litecoin team on their merchandise and marketing efforts.

Last month together we launched their new Litecoin merchandise line that you can buy with Litecoin.

    Shop Here>> https://www.alwayshodl.com/litecoin

The impact we had with LTC was amazing. We shipped over 300 products to every country in the world and over 40% of all purchases were made with Litecoin! Big step forward for spreading awareness and this subreddit was a big part of it. Our post here HERE helped drive tons of interest among the crypto community. So thank you.

Now with the launch behind us we are going to be focusing our efforts on using the merchandise to drive engagement across all Litecoin's communities (Reddit, Facebook, Twitter etc.). We are talking fun things that show our appreciation for your support like competitions, contests, giveaways, member of the month etc. Our goal is to make the Litecoin communities the most fun and engaging in crypto.

We are kicking things off today with the 1st Litecoin Meme Contest

    Here is how it works

    • Submit your Best Litecoin Meme in the comments
    • We will pick our 5 favourite
    • Winners will be announced in this thread they will get LTC Merch

    What do you win

    When does the contest end

Sunday January 14th at 11:59pm EST

To show some love for the r/litecoin subreddit we put together a 10% discount code for all LTC merchandise.

    Use "iloveltc"

Love LTC. Project has tremendous future potential, but litecoin HODLers are like Charlie lee's personal TMZ. Can this reddit PLS get back to LTC Tech?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2018 08:41 AM PST

Looking at the LTC reddit, in the past year, you'd think its been mostly invaded by college kids. But not curious academic minded college, more self entitled, mom and dad paid everything up front, I have no direction undergrads, bros, people on instagram and snapchat. With all the "Nahs" and "Bruhs" and "fam" , they can probably name you the Top 40 radio music in America at the moment.

Seriously. I don't see this level of scrutiny on Monero HODLers or Decred. They're obsessed with telling Charlie lee what to do. Let me break it down for you: The creator of litecoin knows what hes doing and how to develop litecoin. If you dont like how he presents himself on social media, sell your litecoins, buy some tron, all while listening to a drake song to make you feel better. Go buy some pump ICO coins that have announcements every week.

Here's just some of the gems I found today checking reddit:

"I like the guy but he sold his coins when we were at an ath and now litecoin has down in price, people blame him for it"

Some guy writing a bunch of non sense about going to korea to buy drugs and hookers:

Response: "Maybe i have a fucking inmature humour but i found it hilarious" "I am right there with you man."

"I don't think he's out at all. When it turns out he still had a fuck ton, he's gonna say "I bought back in" BULLSHIT"

"He thinks he's doing himself a favor by running his mouth but he's digging his own grave. Public statements will come back to haunt him."

"He's already talking about "buying back in" lol

"What ever happened to avoiding conflict of interest? This guy needs a lawyer to do the talking for him"

"Fantastic. This totally undoes the damage he did to the coin."

I don't think this reddit will ever be the same to how it once was and have no interest in going against the tide. But would be nice to find the LTC tech haven for people that actually want to nerd out andreas antonopoulos style on cool topics.

    Capital One blocking Coinbase buys.

    Posted: 13 Jan 2018 05:56 AM PST

So I just got off the line with customer service at Capital One and was told Coinbase is on their list of crypto currency exchanges that are being blocked from purchases. She stated that coinbase was just added to this "List"on 01/10/18. This was for my Credit cards. (I did not ask about any other types of accounts, as they did not apply in my case.)

    Technical vs Moon Posts

    Posted: 13 Jan 2018 09:34 AM PST

I feel like the moon kids hate the technical post, and the technical kids hate the moon posts. Why does it matter what is posted? It's reddit, guys. Understand that this is a forum in which you can say whatever about a give subject. Stop getting butt-hurt about certain types of posts. Just ignore the ones you don't like, and enjoy the ones that you do.

I don't think either post adds or subtracts any value more than the other. They both have been beaten to death, anyways. And they both serve an equally useless purpose.

Charlie Lee and team LTC are going to be working on this project regardless of what is said on here about tech or moon.

We saw a lack of businesses that accept crypto and we wanted to help grow the expansion. Utilizing cryptocurrency as a currency increases the adoption among others. Please check us out at:

Is Litecoin exchangeable with Bitcoin? Also, is Litecoin it's own thing entirely, or do they just help bitcoin users manage coins easier/faster/"liter"(less computer stress?)

friend fucked up...zero fee tx from ledger

    Posted: 13 Jan 2018 10:00 AM PST

So a buddy made the mistake of sending some coins with a zero fee as he did not understand the difference between no fee and low fee. The tx has not confirmed obviously and with ledger I don't believe there is a way to abandon TX's.

So my question is how do I help him? Is there a way to use his ledger seed in QT wallet and then abandon the TX from there? If he restores the seed just back into the ledger maybe? any input is appreciated, I want him to get a second chance in crypto we all made noob mistakes.

Problem transferring from Coinbase to Ledger Nano S

    Posted: 13 Jan 2018 12:07 PM PST

So I recently got my ledger Nano S and downloaded the Litecoin wallet to it. I successfully transferred 1 LTC to my wallet to confirm my address. However, when I went to send my remaining amount still has not transferred. Coinbase states that 0 confirmations have gone through and it's been about an hour and a half. Am I SOL or is this solvable?

PNC blocked Coinbase transaction; rep was an asshole about it

    Posted: 13 Jan 2018 11:53 AM PST

Like a lot of newcomers, I wanted to try my hand with a small purchase. It was immediately declined by PNC. I got an automated fraud call and confirmed the transaction, but didn't get the courtesy of an offer to speak to a human or any indication as to next steps. So I had to call customer service. Slogged through their stupid-ass automated answering service until a family got to wait on hold for a human. The dickhead who answered told me that my Coinbase transaction was declined, and so I asked why. Instead of answering, he asked me if people have been making Coinbase transactions for the last 10 years. I said, "Um, no. Why is that relevant?" He said "We'll, there's a lot of fraud associated with that stuff, and we might do the same thing if it were a new shoe store." I said, "Bullshit! I've never had a card declined at ANY new business." He started again about fraud and I just hung up. What kind of shit is that?
